Preprocessing parity games with partial Gauss elimination

چکیده
We investigate the use of partial Gauss elimination as a preprocessing step to parity game solving. Gauss elimination is a well-known technique for solving Boolean equation systems. We present an Θ(V ) time algorithm for exhaustive partial Gauss elimination on parity games. Experimental validation shows that this approach is probably not feasible for speeding up the solving of real-world parity games.

Solving Parity Games in Big Steps
This paper proposes a new algorithm that improves the complexity bound for solving parity games. Our approach combines McNaughton’s iterated fixed point algorithm with a preprocessing step, which is called prior to every recursive call. The preprocessing uses ranking functions similar to Jurdziński’s, but with a restricted codomain, to determine all winning regions smaller than a predefined par...
متن کاملExtending Clause Learning SAT Solvers with Complete Parity Reasoning (extended version)
Instances of logical cryptanalysis, circuit verification, and bounded model checking can often be succinctly represented as a combined satisfiability (SAT) problem where an instance is a combination of traditional clauses and parity constraints. This paper studies how such combined problems can be efficiently solved by augmenting a modern SAT solver with an xor-reasoning module in the DPLL(XOR)...
متن کاملA Cure for Stuttering Parity Games
We define governed stuttering bisimulation for parity games, weakening stuttering bisimulation by taking the ownership of vertices into account only when this might lead to observably different games. We show that governed stuttering bisimilarity is an equivalence for parity games and allows for a natural quotienting operation. Moreover, we prove that all pairs of vertices related by governed s...
متن کاملThe Complexity of Partial-Observation Parity Games
We consider two-player zero-sum games on graphs. On the basis of the information available to the players these games can be classified as follows: (a) partial-observation (both players have partial view of the game); (b) one-sided partial-observation (one player has partial-observation and the other player has complete-observation); and (c) complete-observation (both players have complete view...
