چکیده

Introduction Bronchogenic cysts are one of the types of primary cardiac tumors that can occur. They arise in the interatrial septum, especially near the atrioventricular node, which may cause atrioventricular block owing to its location. The incidence of these cardiac tumors is very low. Previous case reports regarding bronchogenic cysts of the interatrial septum have shown association of bronchogenic cysts with atrioventricular block, but not with the life-threatening ventricular arrhythmias. We report a case with bronchogenic cyst in the atrioventricular nodal region presenting as ventricular fibrillation.

Modulation of extracellular atrioventricular node field potential pattern and ventricular rhythm by morphine in experimental atrial fibrillation in isolated rabbit heart

Introduction: Endorphins are produced by cardiomyocytes, and exert different effects on the heart. The aim of the present study is to assess morphine effects on extracellular atrioventricular (AV) node field potential pattern and ventricular rhythm of isolated rabbit heart during experimental atrial fibrillation (AF). Methods: Effects of different concentrations of morphine (10, 20, 50 and 1...

Protective effects of simvastatin on atrioventricular node during simulated experimental atrial fibrillation in vitro

Introduction: Recent evidence has indicated that statins can reduce the incidence of both supraventricular and ventricular arrhythmias with various mechanisms. The primary goal of the present study was to determine direct protective role of simvastatin in modifying concealed conduction and the zone of concealment in a simulated model of atrial fibrillation (AF) in an isolated atrioventricula...

Bronchogenic cyst and pharyngeal fistular in an 81 year old female: A case report.

Bronchogenic cyst is a rare clinical; entity that occurs due to an anomalous development of the ventral foregut; they are usually single but may be multiple and can be filled with fluid or mucus. They have been found all along the transoesophageal course, in perihilar or intraparenchymal sites, with predilection for the area around the carina. The location of the cyst depends on the embryonic s...

Bronchogenic cyst in the interatrial septum with a single persistent left superior vena cava.

Bronchogenic cysts are classified as a type of congenital foregut cyst. They are usually extrapulmonary and occur mostly along the tracheobronchial tree. Intracardiac bronchogenic cysts are very rare. As far as we know, only 3 cases have been reported previously. This paper presents a unique case of a 70-year-old male who was diagnosed with a bronchogenic cyst in the interatrial septum with a c...

Bronchogenic cyst of the interatrial septum

Bronchogenic cyst is considered as an uncommon congenital anomaly. It can be mostly found in mediastinum or lung. Intracardiac bronchogenic cyst is very rare. We found 2 cases in more than 20000 cardiac surgical cases in our department. The 2 cases bronchogenic cyst arose from interatrial septum (IAS), the preoperative diagnosis were myxoma, but the histological diagnosis were bronchogenic cyst...
