Sequencing Operator Counts

چکیده
Operator-counting is a recently developed framework for analysing and integrating many state-ofthe-art heuristics for planning using Linear Programming. In cost-optimal planning only the objective value of these heuristics is traditionally used to guide the search. However the primal solution, i.e. the operator counts, contains useful information. We exploit this information using a SATbased approach which given an operator-count, either finds a valid plan; or generates a generalized landmark constraint violated by that count. We show that these generalized landmarks can be used to encode the perfect heuristic, h⇤, as a Mixed Integer Program. Our most interesting experimental result is that finding or refuting a sequence for an operator-count is most often empirically efficient, enabling a novel and promising approach to planning based on Logic-Based Benders Decomposition (LBBD). Statistical modeling of sequencing errors in SAGE libraries.
MOTIVATION Sequencing errors may bias the gene expression measurements made by Serial Analysis of Gene Expression (SAGE). They may introduce non-existent tags at low abundance and decrease the real abundance of other tags. These effects are increased in the longer tags generated in LongSAGE libraries. Current sequencing technology generates quite accurate estimates of sequencing error rates. He...
متن کاملA Model to Size the Development of Prolog Programs
A model to size Prolog programs is developed using the concepts of an “operator” and an “operand” from software science. By separating the operator counts into counts of Prolog predicates and non-predicate operators, and the operand count into counts of instantiated and uninstantiated variables, it is possible to deduce a model which is as accurate as any model produced for sizing conventional ...
متن کاملSelective analysis of cell-free DNA in maternal blood for evaluation of fetal trisomy
OBJECTIVE To develop a novel prenatal assay based on selective analysis of cell-free DNA in maternal blood for evaluation of fetal Trisomy 21 (T21) and Trisomy 18 (T18). METHODS Two hundred ninety-eight pregnancies, including 39 T21 and seven T18 confirmed fetal aneuploidies, were analyzed using a novel, highly multiplexed assay, termed digital analysis of selected regions (DANSR™). Cell-free...
متن کاملModeling bias and variation in the stochastic processes of small RNA sequencing
The use of RNA-seq as the preferred method for the discovery and validation of small RNA biomarkers has been hindered by high quantitative variability and biased sequence counts. In this paper we develop a statistical model for sequence counts that accounts for ligase bias and stochastic variation in sequence counts. This model implies a linear quadratic relation between the mean and variance o...
متن کاملExperiments on Commonality in Sequencing Operators
Traditionally, crossover operators are based on combination--an operator takes parts from two parents and combines them into an offspring. This paper presents a series of crossover operators based on commonality--an operator preserves the common parts from two parents and uses them as a base on which an offspring solution is built. Experiments on benchmark sequencing problems show that these ne...
