21 Optimisation - Based Clearance : the Linear Analysis
نویسنده
چکیده
We present the clearance results of the HIRM+RIDE control configuration for the linear stability and handling criteria mostly used in the current industrial practice. The performed analysis is based on an optimisation-driven worst-case search. Two classes of linear stability related criteria are considered: the Nichols exclusion region based stability margin criterion and the unstable eigenvalues criterion. The considered handling criteria are the average phase rate and the absolute amplitude criteria. The analysis results clearly illustrate the high potential of the optimisation-based approach in reliably solving clearance problems with many simultaneous uncertain parameters.

Application of the method of multiple scales for nonlinear vibration analysis of mechanical systems with dry and lubricated clearance joints
In this study, the method of multiple scales is used to perform a nonlinear vibration analysis of a mechanical system in two cases; with dry and lubricated clearance joints. In the dry contact case, the Lankarani-Nikravesh model is used to represent the contact force between the joined bodies. The surface elasticity is modeled as a nonlinear spring-damper element. Primary resonance is discussed...
متن کاملSurvey of existing methods for flight control clearance
This report presents five different methodologies which have been used for the clearance of flight control laws. The methodologies are the following: use of the generalised stability margin and the ν-gap metric, Lyapunov function analysis using quadratic and polynomial Lyapunov functions, use of optimisation methods, use of the bifurcation and continuation method and the use of the structured s...
متن کامل7 Optimisation - Based Clearance
The basic feature of the optimisation-based clearance approach is to reformulate the clearance problems as equivalent minimum distance problems for which ”anti”-optimisation is performed to determine the worst-case parameter combination/flight condition leading to worst performance. The basic requirements for the applicability of the optimisation-based approach are the availability of suitable ...
متن کاملEmergency department resource optimisation for improved performance: a review
Emergency departments (EDs) have been becoming increasingly congested due to the combined impacts of growing demand, access block and increased clinical capability of the EDs. This congestion has known to have adverse impacts on the performance of the healthcare services. Attempts to overcome with this challenge have focussed largely on the demand management and the application of system wide p...
متن کاملOptimisation of wire-cut EDM process parameter by Grey-based response surface methodology
Wire electric discharge machining (WEDM) is one of the advanced machining processes. Response surface methodology coupled with Grey relation analysis method has been proposed and used to optimise the machining parameters of WEDM. A face centred cubic design is used for conducting experiments on high speed steel (HSS) M2 grade workpiece material. The regression model of significant factors such ...
