چکیده

We present slitless spectra of the Narrow Line Region (NLR) in NGC 4151 from the Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph (STIS) on HST, and investigate the kinematics and physical conditions of the emission line clouds in this region. Using medium resolution (∼ 0.5 Å) slitless spectra at two roll angles and narrow band undispersed images, we have mapped the NLR velocity field from 1.2 kpc to within 13 pc (H◦ = 75 km s−1Mpc−1) of the nucleus. The inner biconical cloud distribution exhibits recessional velocities relative to the nucleus to the NE and approaching velocities to the SW of the nucleus. We find evidence for at least two kinematic components in the NLR. One kinematic component is characterized by Low Velocities and Low Velocity Dispersions (LVLVD clouds: |v|< 400 km s−1, and ∆v < 130 km s−1). This population extends through the NLR and their observed kinematics may be gravitationally associated with the host galaxy. Another component is characterized by High Velocities and High Velocity Dispersions (HVHVD clouds: 400< |v| ∼ 1700 km s−1, ∆v≥ 130 km s−1). This set of clouds is located within 1.1′′ (∼ 70 pc) of the nucleus and has radial velocities which are too high to be gravitational in origin, but show no strong correlation between velocity or velocity dispersion and the position of the radio knots. Outflow scenarios will be discussed as the driving mechanism for these HVHVD clouds. We also find clouds characterized by Low Velocities and High Velocity Dispersions (LVHVD clouds: |v|< 400 km s−1, ∆v≥ 130 km s−1). These clouds are located within 3.2′′ (∼ 200 pc) of the nucleus. It is not clear if the LVHVD clouds are HVHVD clouds whose low velocities are the results of projection effects. Within 3.2′′ (∼ 200 pc) of the nucleus, the [OIII]/Hβ ratio declines roughly linearly for both the High Velocity Dispersion (HVD) and LVLVD clouds. Since

Kinematics and morphology of the narrow - line region in the Seyfert galaxy NGC 1386 ?

We present a high spatial and spectral resolution 2-D echelle spectrogram of the Narrow–Line Region in the Seyfert 2 galaxy NGC1386. This Seyfert galaxy was observed with CASPEC in the wavelength range 5270– 7725 Å which covers the Hα and the [N ii] lines. With the use of spatially high resolved images taken with the WFPC2 aboard the Hubble Space Telescope we could identify individual component...

Resolved Spectroscopy of the Narrow-Line Region in NGC 1068: Kinematics of the Ionized Gas.

We have determined the radial velocities of the [O iii]-emitting gas in the inner narrow-line region of the Seyfert 2 galaxy NGC 1068, along a slit at position angle 202 degrees, from STIS observations at a spatial resolution of 0&farcs;1 and a spectral resolving power of lambda&solm0;Deltalambda approximately 1000. We use these data to investigate the kinematics of the narrow-line region withi...

EMISSION-LINE OBJECTS FROM A PRELIMINARY UKST OBJECTIVE PRISM SURVEY

A visual search has been made of four fields using United Kingdom 1.2m Schmidt Objective Prism plates with a reciprocal dispersion of 1 180 A/mm at HP. Such plate material is ideally suited to searches for emission-line galaxies. We present a catalogue of 53 emission-line objects, which comprises 45 galaxies, where individual HI1 regions are resolved in 16 bright galaxies; 8 are emission li...

Lines: Narrow Line Region Kinematics or Merging Supermassive Black Hole Pairs?

We present a sample of 167 type 2 AGNs with double-peaked [O III]λλ4959,5007 narrow emission lines, selected from the seventh data release of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey. The double-peaked profiles can be well modeled by two velocity components, blueshifted and redshifted from the systemic velocity. Half of these objects have a more prominent redshifted component. In cases where the Hβ emissio...

Reconstruction Glacier Circus in volcanic craters (Case study Kurdistan Qorveh)

Extended abstract Introduction The attention of forefront foreign researchers has focused on glacier circus. Glacial cirque is the most important pattern of glacial erosion. Deep depressions with steep walls, flat floor or low slope, half-bowl shaped (crescent shaped) are created at high altitudes in the mountains margin by the erosion of mountain glacier (Ahmadi, Feiznia, 2012). Th...
