Fourier Transform Infra Red Spectroscopic Studies on Epilepsy, Migraine and Paralysis
In the present paper, we have studied immunglobulin (IgG) of epileptic children, migraineous and paralytic patients. We have compared our results with normal healthy controls. We found that the bands ranges from 1151.94 to 1168.28 cm-1 due to phospholipids (P-O-C ) group appear in some of the migraineous and paralytic patients only. These bands are absent in normal and epileptic patients. The ...
متن کاملFamilial adult onset myoclonic epilepsy associated with migraine
We report a new type of migraine associated epileptic syndrome in a family: adult onset myoclonic epilepsy with benign course and migraine. Affected members of the family had myoclonic and rare generalised tonic-clonic seizures. Most of the patients, but not all, had a history of migraine. Also, some cases of the family had only migraine. This family will be discussed because of two distinct fe...

Objective: This study aims to evaluate the prevalence of migraine and tension type headache in epileptic patients. Materials and Methods: In a cross-sectional descriptive study, 100 patients with epilepsy who referred to the neurology clini...
متن کاملMigraine and epilepsy: a focus on overlapping clinical, pathophysiological, molecular, and therapeutic aspects.
The association of epilepsy and migraine has been long recognized. Migraine and epilepsy are both chronic disorders with episodic attacks. Furthermore, headache may be a premonitory or postdromic symptom of seizures, and migraine headaches may cause seizures per se (migralepsy). Migraine and epilepsy are comorbid, sharing pathophysiological mechanisms and common clinical features. Several recen...
متن کاملThe utility of administrative data for surveillance of comorbidity in multiple sclerosis: a validation study.
BACKGROUND Although comorbidity is important in multiple sclerosis (MS), few validated methods for its assessment exist. We validated and applied administrative case definitions for several comorbidities in MS. METHODS Using provincial administrative data we identified persons with MS and a matched general population cohort. Case definitions for chronic lung disease (CLD), epilepsy, inflammat...
متن کاملAn unusual association of headache, epilepsy, and late-onset Kleist’s pseudodepression syndrome in frontal lobe cavernoma of the cerebral left hemisphere
Cerebral cavernous angioma or cavernoma is a benign vascular malformation, usually asymptomatic. It is infrequent and often its discovery is incidental, a so-called incidentaloma. However, these lesions can be symptomatic, causing headaches, epilepsy, cerebral hemorrhage and other neurological signs depending on the brain area involved. Frontal localization is responsible for psychiatric disord...
