چکیده

In this paper the novel method of “weighted OFDM” is addressed. Different types of weighting factors (including Rectangular, Bartlett, Gaussian, Raised cosine, Half-sin and Shanon) are considered. The impact of weighting of OFDM on the peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) is investigated by means of simulation and is compared for the above mentioned weighting factors. Results show that by weighting of the OFDM signal the PAPR reduces. Bit error performance of weighted multicarrier transmission over a multipath channel is also investigated. Results indicate that there is a trade off between PAPR reduction and bit error performance degradation by weighting. key words: Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing

Using WPT as a New Method Instead of FFT for ‌Improving the Performance of OFDM Modulation

Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is used in order to provide immunity against very hostile multipath channels in many modern communication systems.. The OFDM technique divides the total available frequency bandwidth into several narrow bands. In conventional OFDM, FFT algorithm is used to provide orthogonal subcarriers. Intersymbol interference (ISI) and intercarrier interferen...

Performance of Frame Synchronization Symbols for an Ofdm-based Wireless Data Communication System

For an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system, frame synchronization is achieved by forcing the receiver to start its FFT at the right time. One way in which this may be achieved is to precede the OFDM data with a special synchronization symbol. In this paper two synchronization symbols are proposed to achieve frame synchronization for an OFDM-based indoor wireless data transm...

EXPLOITING TIME DIVERSITY IN SPATIALLY CORRELATED CHANNELS FOR OFDM SYSTEMS G.V.Rangaraj

Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is a multi-carrier block modulation scheme suitable for wireless communications. It is primarily used in high bit rate systems to mitigate inter-symbol interference (ISI) caused due to delay spread. While the ISI caused by delay spread is an annoyance factor, it also provides multipath diversity advantage if the path gains fade independently. Fo...

BER Analysis of MIMO-OFDM System using Different Equalization Techniques under Multipath Fading Channels for Different Modulations

With the rapid growth of digital communication in recent years, the need for high speed data transmission is increased. OFDM is a promising solution for achieving high data rates in mobile environment, due to its resistance to ISI, which is a common problem found in high speed data communication. A multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communication System combined with the orthogonal frequency...
