Model set-up for Abaqus/Standard - /Explicit Co-Simulation with ANSA

چکیده

Many models are complex systems comprised of numerous different sub models. These sub models could be subjected to different load types, i.e. long duration or short duration, which would be better treated using a different type of discretization techniques and solution algorithms [1]. This problem can be addressed by Co-simulation which is the coupling of different simulation systems that exchange data during the integration time [2]. ANSA v14.x makes it possible to prepare a model for such a Co-simulation analysis.

Comprehensive Simulation for Two-diode Model of Photovoltaic Cells in SimPowerSystems Using Explicit Mathematical Functions

In this paper, using Thevenin’s theorem and also nonlinear Lambert W function, a novel two-diode model of photovoltaic cells is presented in mathematical explicit manner. In comparison with existing explicit models in the literature which are valid exclusively for n2=n1 and n2=2n1, this model includes a wide range of silicon-based cells with arbitrary diodes ideality factors. Acquiring regulati...

Ceramic Total Hip Liner Fracture Modeling in Abaqus using co-Simulation and Extended Finite Element Modeling

Due to concerns over particle generation in conventional metal-on-polyethylene hip bearings used in total hip arthroplasty (THA), interest in advanced low-wear bearing alternatives such as ceramic-on-ceramic (CoC) couples has reemerged. While ceramics demonstrate excellent compressive strength, the brittle nature of the material reduces tensile strength, possibly leading to catastrophic fractur...

Chip Formation Process using Finite Element Simulation “Influence of Cutting Speed Variation”

The main aim of this paper is to study the material removal phenomenon using the finite element method (FEM) analysis for orthogonal cutting, and the impact of cutting speed variation on the chip formation, stress and plastic deformation. We have explored different constitutive models describing the tool-workpiece interaction. The Johnson-Cook constitutive model with damage initiation and damag...

An Adapted Non-dominated Sorting Algorithm (ANSA) for Solving Multi Objective Trip Distribution Problem

Trip distribution deals with estimation of trips distributed among origins and destinations and is one of the important stages in transportation planning. Since in the real world, trip distribution models often have more than one objective, multi-objective models are developed to cope with a set of conflict goals in this area. In a proposed method of adapted non-dominated sorting algorithm (ANS...

Finite Element Modeling of Chip Formation Process with Abaqus / Explicittm 6 . 3

A 2D Finite Element Model (F.E.M.) of chip formation process, set up with an Arbitrary Lagrangian Eulerian (A.L.E.) formulation, proposed in the software Abaqus/Explicit TM v6.3, is shown. The experimental validation showed a good qualitative agreement. Thus, FEM of cutting process can be considered as a promising and reliable tool for machining development within the near future.
