Framework for Migrating from Vrml to Open Inventor in Modelling of Behaviour of Structures

The paper describes a framework for transfer of models of virtual reality simulation of structural behaviour written in Virtual Reality Modelling Language (VRML) and JavaScript programming languages to a more suitable platform for engineering applications. The Open Inventor has been found to be the most appropriate platform for translation of results of virtual reality simulation of structural behaviour. The paper describes the process of transfer of models of structures from VRML and JavaScript to Open Inventor together with advantages and limitations.
