Clustering Tags in Enterprise and Web Folksonomies
نویسنده
چکیده
Tags lack organizational structure limiting their utility for navigation. We present two clustering algorithms that improve this by organizing tags automatically. We apply the algorithms to two very different datasets, visualize the results and propose future improvements.

Uncovering the structure of hypergraphs through tensor decomposition: an application to folksonomy analysis
Folksonomies shared vocabularies generated by users through collective annotation (tagging) of web-based content, which are formally hypergraphs connecting users, tags and objects, are beginning to play an increasingly important role in social media. Effective use of folksonomies for organizing and locating web content, discovering and organizing user communities in order to facilitate the cont...

A folksonomy refers to a collection of user-defined tags with which users describe contents published on the Web. With the flourish of Web 2.0, folksonomies have become an important mean to develop the Semantic Web. Because tags in folksonomies are authored freely, there is a need to understand the structure and semantics of these tags in various applications. In this paper, we propose a learni...
متن کاملPersonalization in Folksonomies Based on Tag Clustering
Collaborative tagging systems, sometimes referred to as “folksonomies,” enable Internet users to annotate or search for resources using custom labels instead of being restricted by pre-defined navigational or conceptual hierarchies. However, the flexibility of tagging brings with it certain costs. Because users are free to apply any tag to any resource, tagging systems contain large numbers of ...
متن کاملoutputs Bridging the gap between folksonomies and the semantic web : an experience report
While folksonomies allow tagging of similar resources with a variety of tags, their content retrieval mechanisms are severely hampered by being agnostic to the relations that exist between these tags. To overcome this limitation, several methods have been proposed to find groups of implicitly inter-related tags. We believe that content retrieval can be further improved by making the relations b...
متن کاملDiscovering and exploiting semantics in folksonomies
Folksonomies are Web 2.0 platforms where users share resources with each other. Furthermore, they can assign keywords (called tags) to the resources for categorizing and organizing the resources. Numerous types of resources like websites (Delicious), images (Flickr), and videos (YouTube) are supported by different folksonomies. The folksonomies are easy to use and thus attract the attention of ...
