چکیده

Tendency on miniaturization of the modern magnetic sensors and devices stimulates development of such magnetic materials with reduced dimensionality. Therefore magnetic materials with outstanding magnetic characteristics and reduced dimensionality recently gained much attention. Consequently thin wire with reduced geometrical dimensions (of order of 1-30 μm in diameter) gained importance within last few years [1,2]. These thin wires combine excellent soft magnetic properties (with coercivities till 4 A/m) with and unusual re-magnetization process in positive magnetostriction compositions exhibiting magnetically bistable behaviour and fast domain wall propagation [1-4]. In this paper we’ll recent results on domain wall (DW) propagation in these microwires

Manipulation of domain wall dynamics in amorphous microwires through the magnetoelastic anisotropy

We studied the effect of magnetoelastic anisotropy on domain wall (DW) dynamics and remagnetization process of magnetically bistable Fe-Co-rich microwires with metallic nucleus diameters (from 1.4 to 22 μm). We manipulated the magnetoelastic anisotropy applying the tensile stresses and changing the magnetostriction constant and strength of the internal stresses. Microwires of the same compositi...

Ultrathin Nanocrystalline Magnetic Wires

The magnetic characteristics of FINEMET type glass-coated nanowires and submicron wires are investigated by taking into account the structural evolution induced by specific annealing all the way from a fully amorphous state to a nanocrystalline structure. The differences between the magnetic properties of these ultrathin wires and those of the thicker glass-coated microwires and “conventional” ...

Magnetization Dynamics of Amorphous Ribbons and Wires Studied by Inductance Spectroscopy

Inductance spectroscopy is a particular formulation variant of the well known complex impedance formalism typically used for the electric characterization of dielectric, ferroelectric, and piezoelectric materials. It has been successfully exploited as a versatile tool for characterization of the magnetization dynamics in amorphous ribbons and wires by means of simple experiments involving coils...

Rapidly Solidified Magnetic Nanowires and Submicron Wires

Magnetically soft amorphous glass-coated microwires are suitable for numerous sensor applications. Their typical dimensions – metallic nucleus diameter of 1 to 50 m and glass coating thickness of 1 to 30 m – make them promising candidates for high frequency applications, especially given their sensitive giant magneto-impedance (GMI) response in the MHz and GHz ranges (Torrejón et al, 2009). T...

Development of Ultra-Thin Glass-Coated Amorphous Microwires for High Frequency Magnetic Sensors Applications

The giant magneto-impedance (GMI) effect has been studied in 3 different families of amorphous wires: conventional amorphous wires (125 μm in diameter), cold drawn wires (50 and 20 μm in diameter) and thin glass coated amorphous microwires (with metallic nucleus diameter of about 15 μm). These wires have been investigated in the frequency range 1 – 500 MHz. A remarkable difference in the magnet...
