چکیده
Capsule Background: To study NF-κB-activated CTCF in EGF-induced wound healing. Results: Corneal epithelial wound healing was significantly impaired because of lacking CTCF activity in NFκB-p50 mice. EGF-induced NFκB activation regulated CTCF by interacting with CTCF-promoter to increases motility, migration and wound healing. Conclusion: CTCF is a NFκB-p50-interactive target in EGF-induced corneal epithelial wound healing. Significance: NF-κB-controlled CTCF activation plays important roles in EGF-regulated wound healing.

Activation of Oxidative Stress-Regulated Bcl-3 Suppresses CTCF in Corneal Epithelial Cells
Epigenetic factor CTCF (CCCTC binding factor) plays important roles in genetic controls of the cell fate. Previous studies found in corneal epithelial cells that CTCF is regulated by epidermal growth factor (EGF) through activation of NF-κB p65/p50. It also found that CTCF is suppressed in ultraviolet (UV) stress-induced corneal epithelial cells. However, it is still unknown how UV stress down-...

The IKKβ is known to regulate transcription factor NF-κB activation leading to inflammatory responses. Recent gene knockout studies have shown that IKKβ can orchestrate local inflammatory responses and regulate homeostasis of epithelial tissues. To investigate whether IKKβ has an intrinsic role in epithelial cells, we established an in vivo system in the immune privileged corneal epithelium. We...

PURPOSE Epidermal growth factor (EGF) stimulates migration in corneal epithelial wound healing. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of EGF-induced alpha-tubulin deacetylation through activating HDAC6 on migration in corneal epithelial wound healing. METHODS Human corneal epithelial (HCE) cells were cultured in DMEM/F12 medium containing 10% FBS in a 37 degrees C incubator ...

PURPOSE To identify the underlying mechanisms by which lipid mediator lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) acts as a growth factor in stimulating extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) and phosphatidylinositol 3'-kinase (PI3K) during corneal epithelial wound healing. METHODS Epithelial debridement wounds in cultured porcine corneas and scratch wounds in an epithelial monolayer of SV40-immortalize...

Purpose. Patients with diabetes are at higher risk for delayed corneal reepithelialization and infection. Previous studies indicated that high glucose (HG) impairs epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) signaling and attenuates ex vivo corneal epithelial wound healing. The authors investigated the effects of antimicrobial peptide LL-37 on HG-attenuated corneal epithelial EGFR signaling and wou...
