A model for spontaneous parity breaking
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this paper we present a left-right symmetric model for elementary particles. The model is based on the group SU(2)L ⊗ SU(2)R ⊗ U(1) with new mirror fermions. A minimal set of Higgs particles is proposed in order to break this symmetry down to U(1)em. The model can accommodate neutrino oscillations and a consistent pattern for charged fermion masses. An important consequence of the model is that the connection between the left and right sectors can be done by the neutral vector gauge boson Z and a new heavy Z . Spontaneous Parity Violation and Minimal Higgs Models
In this paper we present a model for the spontaneous breaking of parity with two Higgs doublets and two neutral Higgs singlets which are even and odd under D-parity. The condition υR ≫ υL can be satisfied without introducing bidoublets and it is induced by the breaking of D-parity through the vacuum expectation value of the odd Higgs singlet. Examples of left-right symmetric and mirror fermions...
متن کاملRadiative W and Z Decays and Spontaneous R-Parity Violation
We point out that in a class of supersymmetric models where R-parity violation is induced by the spontaneous breaking of local B − L symmetry, the R-parity violating W decay W → l̃γ and Z decay Z → ν̃γ, forbidden in the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM), occur at an enhanced rate compared to other models with R-parity breaking. We find that the branching fractions for these modes can b...
متن کاملBasis-Independent Measures of R-Parity Violation
We construct basis-independent expressions that measure the magnitude of R-parity breaking due to possible superpotential terms in the Minimal Supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model, in the absence of soft supersymmetry-breaking terms and spontaneous gauge symmetry breaking. We also discuss briefly their application to a consistent treatment of cosmological constraints on R-parity viola...
متن کاملSpontaneous Breaking of R-parity
So far most attention to the study of supersymmetric phenomenology has been made in the framework of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) 1 with conserved R-parity . R-parity is a discrete symmetry assigned as Rp = (−1)(3B+L+2S), where L is the lepton number, B is the baryon number and S is the spin of the state. If R-parity is conserved all supersymmetric particles must always be p...
متن کاملLeptonic Cp-violation in Supersymmetric Standard Model
We point out the possibility of spontaneous and hard CP-violation in the scalar potential of R-parity broken supersymmetric Standard Model. The existence of spontaneous CP-violation depends crucially on the Rparity breaking terms in the superpotential and, in addition, on the choice of the soft supersymmetry breaking terms. Unlike in theories with R-parity conservation, it is natural, in the co...
متن کاملSpontaneous breaking of chiral symmetry, and eventually of parity, in a σ-model with two Mexican hats
A σ-model with two linked Mexican hats is discussed. This scenario could be realized in lowenergy QCD when the ground state and the first excited (pseudo)scalar mesons are included, and where not only in the subspace of the ground states, but also in that of the first excited states, a Mexican hat potential is present. This possibility can change some basic features of a low-energy hadronic the...
