Modelling Volume, Growth and Mortality

چکیده
The purpose of this paper is to introduce a highly effi cient technique for deriving accurate and versatile stem curve models. The technique in question is based on relative stem diameters and relative stem heights and is subsequently called the relative stem curve method. The paper focuses on the following three main issues (i) the uniformity and variability of relative stem curves, (ii) the volume and commercial height estimation accuracy of relative stem curve models, and (iii) the number of sample trees required to derive relative stem curve models. It is shown, by an extensive set of stems measured in the fi eld and comprising 1964 stems, that average relative stem curves of different sized trees are highly similar and that the variability of relative stem curves is also quite modest. Consequently the volume and commercial and saw-wood height estimation accuracies are high and the required number of fi eld sample trees low. Standard errors varied from 10% to 7% for volume and the required number of sample trees from 1 to 15. It is proposed that a worldwide effort is launched in order to derive and utilize relative stem curve models for all commercially important tree species.

Growth modelling of milk shark, Rhizoprionondon acutus (Ruppel, 1837) from waters of the Persian Gulf and Oman Sea (Hormozgan province)
This study aimed to investigate Growth modelling of the milk shark (Rhizoprionondon acutus Ruppel, 1837) from October 2019 until march 2021 for 18 months in northern waters of the Persian Gulf and the Oman Sea (Hormozgan Province). Overall, 317 shark samples of R. acutus including 137 males and 180 females were weighted. Results of the present work indicated that length-frequency distribution o...
متن کاملProbability Distribution Fitting to Maternal Mortality in Nigeria.
The consequences of Maternal Mortality (MM) cannot be overemphasized. It inhibits population growth resulting into loss of lives among others. This work tends to obtain the maternal mortality rates (MMR) in Nigeria, identify some fitted distributions to MMR and determine which of the distributions best fits the data. A comprehensive Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) was carried on MM and the MMRs...
متن کاملGROWTH MODELLING OF SCHOOL CHILDREN IN IRAN USING SHIRAZ DATA
Centile values and growth charts for height, weight and arm circumference are presented for school children aged six to 12 years in Shiraz (Iran). The smooth centile values have been derived from the raw data by Healy's nonparametric method. Girls grow faster than boys. Homogeneity of data with population structure and universal rationing imply that these norms are likely to be appropriate...
متن کاملModelling of strongly coupled particle growth and aggregation
Abstract. The mathematical modelling of the dynamics of particle suspension is based on the population balance equation (PBE). PBE is an integro-differential equation for the population density that is a function of time t, space coordinates and internal parameters. Usually, the particle is characterized by a unique parameter, e.g. the matter volume v. PBE consists of several terms: for instanc...
متن کاملResources classification using fractal modelling in Eastern Kahang Cu-Mo porphyry deposit, Central Iran
Resources/reserves classification is crucial for block model creation utilised in mine planning and feasibility study. Selection of estimation methods is an essential part of mineral exploration and mining activities. In other word, resources classification is an issue for mining companies, investors, financial institutions and authorities, but it remains subject to some confusion. The aim of t...

The aim of the present study was to investigate the population dynamics of Liza klunzingeri, in Hormouzgan province waters located in northern coasts of the Persian Gulf and Oman Sea. This study was carried out from October 2007 to September 2008. samples were collected from commercial stake traps. The relationship between weight and fork length was found to be W= 0.0214 F.L2.8233 suggesting ...
