Endogenous Network Formation and the Provision of a Public Good
نویسنده
چکیده
The way people form groups when facing a coordination problem poses an interesting question. This paper addresses the issue of what type of clubs are formed when players must play a public goods game with the other players belonging to their club. I use a two-stage approach to separate network decisions and public goods decisions and apply farsighted stability to characterize the network structures that emerge and persist as a result of this sequence of stages. It is possible to establish criteria based on the player size and network parameters for determining the elements of two types of stable solution sets: basins of attraction and the path dominance core. Both solution sets provide predictions for the types of clubs that will form within the defined framework. Identification of Intracellular Sources Responsible for Endogenous Reactive Oxygen Species Formation
The endogenous reactive oxygen species ("ROS") formation is associated with many pathologic states such as inflammatory diseases, neurodegenerative diseases, brain and heart ischemic injuries, cancer, and aging. The purpose of this study was to investigate the endogenous sources for "ROS" formation in intact isolated rat hepatocytes, in particular, peroxisomal oxidases, monoamine oxidase, xanth...

Network of public spaces composes of a network of interconnected land use and various elements of the city, such as synthetic and natural which shows the city as a whole. Network structure of public spaces is important because understanding this network as a structure presents us the formation of the city. This paper attempts to define the status of the network of public spaces in the city stru...
متن کاملCorporate Provision of Public Goods∗
Firms spend considerable amounts on socially responsible business practices. These expenditures are often seen as an indirect form of profit maximization or a perquisite of the manager at shareholder expense. We offer a more direct explanation. Since shareholders enjoy both consumption and private benefits from public goods, managers acting on their behalf will (1) provision more public goods t...

This paper examines the segregative properties of Tiebout-like endogenous processes of jurisdiction formation in presence of a competitive land market. In the model considered, a continuum of households with di¤erent wealth levels and the same preferences for local public goods, private spending and housing choose a location from a nite set. Each location has an initial endowment of housing th...
