A Case of Total Extirpation of the Prostate by Freyer's Suprapubic Method

A Farsi of about 60 years, a very jj thin man, had retention of urine for three days before admission to the Sitapur District Hospital. The retention was found to be due to enlargement of the prostate which, per rectum, was easily examined bimanually and found to be soft, freely moveable and s}7mmetrically enlarged. The patient passed no urine voluntarily for 12 days after admission. His urine was acid, clear and contained no albumen.
