Impact of UMMB Supplementation on Rumen Microbiology in Buffalo Calves (Bubalus Bubalis)

The effect of UMMB supplementation on rumen micro ora was investigated in fteen healthy rumen stulated buffalo calves divided into three groups having ve animals in each. The animals of group I, II and III were kept on conventional diet, wheat straw alone and wheat straw supplemented with UMMB, respectively. Rumen liquor samples were collected at different time intervals for three consecutive days after 21 days of microbial adaptation. The results revealed signi cant increase in microbial population with UMMB supplementation. The percent holotrich population was also found signi cantly (P<0.05) higher for UMMB supplemented group than wheat straw alone.
