چکیده

Temporal logic of knowledge is a combination of temporal and epistemic logic that has been shown to be very useful in areas such as distributed systems, security, and multi-agent systems. However, the complexity of the logic can be prohibitive. We here develop a refined version of such a logic and associated tableau procedure with improved complexity but where important classes of specification can still be described. This new logic represents a combination of an “exactly one” temporal logic with an S5 multi-modal logic again restricted to the

Technical Report Satisfiability of ATEL with Common and Distributed Knowledge is ExpTime-Complete

Alternating-time Temporal Logic (ATL) of Alur, Henzinger, and Kupferman is increasingly widely applied in formal system specification and verification of distributed systems and game-like multi-agent systems. The extension Alternating-time Temporal Epistemic Logic (ATEL) of van der Hoek and Wooldridge of ATL with knowledge modalities widens the scope of reasoning over multi-agent systems with e...

An Epistemic Halpern-Shoham Logic

We define a family of epistemic extensions of Halpern–Shoham logic for reasoning about temporal-epistemic properties of multi-agent systems. We exemplify their use and study the complexity of their model checking problem. We show a range of results ranging from PTIME to PSPACE– hard depending on the logic considered.

Different Task Complexity Factors and Cognitive Individual ‎Differences: The Effects on EFL Writers’ Performance

This study aimed at examining the main and interaction effects of increased intentional reasoning demands, planning time, and also language learning aptitude on syntactic complexity, accuracy, lexical complexity, and fluency (CALF) of 226 EFL learners’ performance on letter writing tasks. The participants were first randomly assigned to three experimental groups to be given a task with differin...

An Epistemic Strategy Logic

The paper presents an extension of temporal epistemic logic with operators that quantify over agent strategies. Unlike previous work on alternating temporal epistemic logic, the semantics works with systems whose states explicitly encode the strategy being used by each of the agents. This provides a natural way to express what agents would know were they to be aware of the strategies being used...

Not All Those Who Wander Are Lost: Dynamic Epistemic Reasoning in Navigation

In everyday life, people get lost even when they have the map: they simply may not know where they are in the map. However, when moving forward they may have new observations which can help to locate themselves by reasoning. In this paper, we propose and develop a semantic-driven dynamic epistemic framework to handle epistemic reasoning in such navigation scenarios. Our framework can be viewed ...
