Studiesover thepast20yearshavedefined theHipposignalingpathway asamajor regulatorof tissuegrowthandorgansize.Diverse roles for the Hippo pathway have emerged, the majority of which in vertebrates are determined by the transcriptional regulators TAZ and YAP (TAZ/YAP). Key processes regulated by TAZ/YAP include the control of cell proliferation, apoptosis, movement and fate. Accurate control of the levels and localization of these factors is thus essential for early developmental events, as well as for tissue homeostasis, repair and regeneration. Recent studies have revealed that TAZ/YAP activity is regulated by mechanical and cytoskeletal cues as well as by various extracellular factors. Here, I provide an overview of these and other regulatorymechanismsandoutline important developmental processes controlled by TAZ and YAP.

A statistical analysis of the metallicities of nine old superclusters and moving groups
Using both high-dispersion and low-resolution data, the metallicities of nine old moving groups and superclusters are analyzed. These stellar groupings include the HR 1614 and Hyades superclusters and the Wolf 630, ζ Her, 61 Cyg, HR 1614, σ Pup, η Cep, and Arcturus groups. Samples of these stellar groupings are drawn from Eggen’s membership lists. Precautions are taken against problems posed by...
متن کاملThe effect of Corrective Feedback (Written and Verbal) teachers in the Formative Evaluation On the amount of Emotional Excitement (emotions related to learning and emotions related to the lesson) male students
Abstract: Introduction: The system of education, like other systems, has its own principles and characteristics. One of the essential features of this evaluation is the provision of useful feedback, through which one can identify important educational goals and, among other things, examine the important needs for language learning. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of fe...
متن کاملHigh-resolution imaging of the molecular outflows in two mergers: IRAS 17208-0014 and NGC 1614⋆
Context. Galaxy evolution scenarios predict that the feedback of star formation and nuclear activity (AGN) can drive the transformation of gas-rich spiral mergers into (ultra) luminous infrared galaxies and, eventually, lead to the build-up of QSO/elliptical hosts. Aims. We study the role that star formation and AGN feedback have in launching and maintaining the molecular outflows in two starbu...
متن کاملNear – infrared line imaging of the starburst galaxies NGC 520 , NGC 1614 and NGC 7714
We present high spatial resolution (∼0. 6) near–infrared broad–band JHK images and Brγ 2.1661 μm and H2 1–0 S(1) 2.122 μm emission line images of the nuclear regions in the interacting starburst galaxies NGC 520, NGC 1614 and NGC 7714. The near–infrared emission line and radio morphologies are in general agreement, although there are differences in details. In NGC 1614, we detect a nuclear doub...
متن کاملStar-formation in the central kpc of the starburst/LINER galaxy NGC 1614
Aims. The aim is to investigate the star-formation and LINER (low ionization nuclear emission line region) activity within the central kiloparsec of the galaxy NGC 1614. In this paper the radio continuum morphology, which provides a tracer of both nuclear and star-formation activity, and the distribution and dynamics of the cold molecular and atomic gas feeding this activity, are studied. In pa...
