چکیده
ABSTRAC~ This paper deals witU a new 48-degrees-of-freedom rectangular finite element for analysing moderately thi(:k, multilayered composite plates. The formulation is based on a kinematics which allows one to exactly ensure the continuity <londitions for the displacements, and the t~ansverse str~sses at the interfaces between the layers of a laminated structure and zero s1lress conditiQns at the top and bottom surfaces of the plate. The shear correction factors are not requir~d in the formulation, as the transverse shear deformations are defined using trigonometric 'runctions that are of higher order. The effectiveness of the element is tested against standard problems concerniI\g statics, vibration and buckling, for which exact threedimensional/numerical solutions areiavailable.

THEORETICAL AND NUMERICAL STUDY ON THE STRENGTHENED STEEL PLATE SHEAR WALLS BY FRP LAMINATES
In this paper, nonlinear behavior of strengthened steel plate shear walls (SPSWs) by FRP laminates theoretically and numerically has been investigated. In the first part, a new method, “the composite-plate frame Interaction (C-PFI) method”, has been introduced to predict the shear behavior of the composite steel plate shear wall systems (CSPSWs). In the second part, several models of one-story ...

In this paper, progressive damage and global failure of composite laminates under quasi-static, monotonic loading are investigated using 3D continuum damage mechanics. For this purpose, a finite element program has been developed using an eight-node 2D layered element including layer-wise plate theory. Damage analysis of a single orthotropic layer under various uniform in-plane and transverse l...

In this paper, a closed form solution for bending and free vibration analyses of simply supported rectangular laminated composite plates is presented. The static and free vibration behavior of symmetric and antisymmetric laminates is investigated using a refined first-order shear deformation theory. The Winkler–Pasternak two-parameter model is employed to express the interaction between the lam...
متن کاملCompressive Behavior of a Glass/Epoxy Composite Laminates with Single Delamination
The buckling and postbuckling behaviors of a composite beam with single delamination are investigated. A three-dimensional finite element model using the commercial code ANSYS is employed for this purpose. The finite elements analyses have been performed using a linear buckling model based on the solution of the eigenvalues problem, and a non-linear one based on an incremental-iterative method....
متن کاملFinite Element Analysis of Free Vibration of the Delaminated Composite Plate with Variable Kinematic Multilayered Plate Elements
Composite laminates are prone to delamination. Implementation of delamination in the Carrera Unified Formulation frame work using nine noded quadrilateral MITC9 element is discussed in this article. MITC9 element is devoid of shear locking and membrane locking. Delaminated as well as healthy structure is analysed for free mode vibration. The results from the present work are compared with the a...
