Weighted Minimum Backward Frechet Distance

چکیده
The minimum backward Fréchet distance (MBFD) problem is a natural optimization problem for the weak Fréchet distance, a variant of the well-known Fréchet distance. In this problem, a threshold ε and two polygonal curves, T1 and T2, are given. The objective is to find a pair of walks on T1 and T2, which minimizes the union of the portions of backward movements while the distance between the moving entities, at any time, is at most ε. In this paper, we generalize this model to capture scenarios when the cost of backtracking on the input polygonal curves is not homogeneous. More specifically, each edge of T1 and T2 has an associated nonnegative weight. The cost of backtracking on an edge is the Euclidean length of backward movement on that edge multiplied by the corresponding weight. The objective is to find a pair of walks that minimizes the sum of the costs on the edges of the curves, while guaranteeing that the curves remain at weak Fréchet distance ε. We propose an exact algorithm whose run time and space complexity is O(n3), where n is the maximum number of the edges of T1 and T2.

Weighted Frechet Means as Convex Combinations in Metric Spaces: Properties and Generalized Median Inequalities
In this short note, we study the properties of the weighted Frechet mean as a convex combination operator on an arbitrary metric space (Y, d). We show that this binary operator is commutative, non-associative, idempotent, invariant to multiplication by a constant weight and possesses an identity element. We also cover the properties of the weighted cumulative Frechet mean. These tools allow us ...

Let H be a Hilbert space of functions analytic on a plane domain G such that for each λ in G the linear functional of evaluation at λ given by f −→ f(λ) is a bounded linear functional on H . By the Riesz representation theorem there is a vector Kλ in H such that f(λ) =< f,Kλ >. Let T = (T1, T2) be the pair of commutative bounded linear operators T1 and T2 acting on H . Put F = {T1T2 : m,n ≥ 0}....
متن کاملNormal-Map between Normal-Compatible Manifolds
Consider two (n−1)-dimensional manifolds, S and S in R. We say that they are normalcompatible when the closest projection of each one onto the other is a homeomorphism. We give a tight condition under which S and S are normal-compatible. It involves the minimum feature size of S and of S and the Hausdorff distance between them. Furthermore, when S and S are normal-compatible, their Frechet dist...

Received (received date) Revised (revised date) Communicated by (Name) The article analyzes similarity of closed polygonal curves in Frechet metric, which is stronger than the well-known Hausdorff metric and therefore is more appropriate in some applications. An algorithm that determines whether the Frechet distance between two closed polygonal curves with m and n vertices is less than a given ...

Inverse maximum flow (IMDF), is among the most important problems in the field ofdynamic network flow, which has been considered the Euclidean norms measure in previousresearches. In this paper,we studies a general approach for handling the inv...
