SLC: Efficient Authenticated Encryption for Short Packages

چکیده
We present a new, provably secure, self-synchronizing authenticated encryption mode of operation, SLC, with the ability to re-synchronize after loss of transmission units of sub-block size, enabling it to efficiently handle short packets. The new scheme uses two components, self-synchronizing MAC and self-synchronizing encryption scheme, each of which is individually interesting. The SLC mode, as well as both its components, are highly parallelizable and efficient in fault-tolerant applications.

Artemia: a family of provably secure authenticated encryption schemes
Authenticated encryption schemes establish both privacy and authenticity. This paper specifies a family of the dedicated authenticated encryption schemes, Artemia. It is an online nonce-based authenticated encryption scheme which supports the associated data. Artemia uses the permutation based mode, JHAE, that is provably secure in the ideal permutation model. The scheme does not require the in...
متن کاملRSPAE: RFID Search Protocol based on Authenticated Encryption
Search protocols are among the main applications of RFID systems. Since a search protocol should be able to locate a certain tag among many tags, not only it should be secure against RFID threats but also it should be affordable. In this article, an RFID-based search protocol will be presented. We use an encryption technique that is referred to as authenticated encryption in order to boost the ...
متن کاملA Threshold Authenticated Encryption Scheme Based on Elliptic Curve Cryptosystem
A (t,n) threshold authenticated encryption scheme allows more than t signers to generate an authenticated cipher-text for a message and only the designated verifier can verify the message. Recently, Chung et al. [1] proposed a (t, n) threshold authenticated encryption scheme by applying a division-of-labor signature technique. However, we showed that the scheme has a design flaw. Then, we propo...
متن کاملConcealment and Its Applications to Authenticated Encryption
We introduce a new cryptographic primitive we call concealment, which is related, but quite different from the notion of commitment. A concealment is a publicly known randomized transformation, which, on input m, outputs a hider h and a binder b. Together, h and b allow one to recover m, but separately, (1) the hider h reveals “no information” aboutm, while (2) the binder b can be “meaningfully...
متن کاملAn Efficient Authenticated Encryption Scheme With Message Linkages and Low Communication Costs
An efficient authenticated encryption scheme with message linkages is proposed. For achieving both privacy and integrity in data communications, the proposed scheme requires smaller bandwidth and computational time when compared to previously proposed authenticated encryption schemes with message linkages. Moreover, the proposed scheme allows the verifier to recover and verify the message block...
