چکیده

Fluorescence spectroscopy is the most sensitive optical detection technique used with high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Fluorescence of a molecule can occur naturally or can be achieved by labeling the molecule with a fluorescent tag in a derivatization reaction. A classic application of such a derivatization is for amino acid analysis. The chemical modification can be performed in an automated way prior to the chromatographic separation (precolumn)1 or after the separation (postcolumn).2

Development of a Simple and Sensitive Terbium Sensitized Fluorescence Method for Determination of Epinephrine and Norepinephrine in Serum

A simple, rapid, selective and highly sensitive fluorimetric method for determination of two catecholamines, i.e. norepinephrine (NE) and epinephrine (EP), in serum samples was developed. The method is based on the fluorescence sensitization of terbium (Tb3+) by complexation with both catecholamines in the presence of lanthanum (La3+), as a co-cation, and in a Na...

Usability Evaluation of Method Handbook

In enterprise modelling and information systems development, methods contribute to systematic work processes and to improving the quality of modelling results. Information Demand Analysis (IDA) is a method, which recently was developed for the purpose of optimizing the information flow in the field of information logistics. In order to contribute to improvement of the IDA method, the focus of t...

Flow cytometry in the analysis of cellular populations

Flow cytometry has become a valuable tool in cell biology. By analyzing large number of cells individually using light-scatter and fluorescence measurements, this technique reveals both cellular characteristics and the levels of cellular components. Flow cytometry has been developed to rapidly enumerate cells and to distinguish among different cell stages and structures using multiple staining....

Fluorescence involves the absorption of light energy by a fluorophore molecule (Figure 1, light blue curve) and emission of that energy at a longer (lower energy) wavelength (dark blue curve). If this emission overlaps the absorption spectrum of an acceptor chromophore molecule (red curve), a radiationless transfer of energy emission will occur provided the two probes are within a few atomic di...
