چکیده
Bone marrow transplantation can be complicated by renal failure resulting from a variety of causes. Early renal injury most often results from infection and its subsequent treatment with nephrotoxic medications. Late renal injury after bone marrow transplantation is characterized by a syndrome similar to the hemolytic uremic syndrome. This renal syndrome, called “bone marrow transplant nephropathy,” is thought to evolve from the late effects of radiation therapy and cytotoxic chemotherapy on the kidney. In this article, a case of bone marrow transplant nephropathy and a review of the dinical and pathologic features are presented. (J Am Soc Nephrol

متن کاملAn Unusual Case of Metastatatic Renal Cell Carcinoma Presenting as Melena and Duodenal Ulcer, 16 Years After Nephrectomy; a Case Report and Review of the Literature
Renal cell carcinoma comprises about 2% of adult tumors. The overall 10-year survival rate of patients with RCC after nephrectomy is about 18-27%. The incidence of metastasis of initial RCC is about 24-28%, but this rate after nephrectomy is as high as 51%. The most common site of recurrence is the lung, however liver and bone metastases are common. There are many reported cases with late metast...

متن کاملUrine Cytology: Useful Screening Method for Polyoma Virus Nephropathy in Renal Transplant Patients
Polyoma virus nephropathy occurs in 3% to 4% of renal transplant recipients, causing graft loss in 50% of cases. The objective of the present study was to explore the effects of age, sex, post-transplantation period and plasma creatinine levels on the polyoma virus infection in kidney transplanted patients. Urine samples were collected from 362 patients, centrifuged and microscopic slides prepa...

Felty's syndrome, first reported by Felty in 1924 [1], is well known as a trio of rheumatoid arthritis, splenomegaly, and neutropenia, which occurs in 1-5% of patients with rheumatoid arthritis. The nephropathy associated with Felty's syndrome is very rare; we found only one previous case in the literature [2]. Although the pathogenesis of Felty's syndrome is still unclear, the glomerular lesio...
