GPA is an expression that describes how the number of dots/inch (dpi) and the number of graylevels/dot (gpd) tradeoffin detennining the number ofgraylevels per area (GPA). The metric is based on the assumption that anything that falls within a visual angle of approximately 3 minutes of arc will be spatially-integrated by the optical blur properties of our eyes.
