A Semianalytical Method for Predicting Primary and Secondary Current Density Distributions: Linear and Nonlinear Boundary Conditions

چکیده
A semianalytical solution technique is presented for solving Laplace’s equation to obtain primary and secondary potential and current density distributions in electrochemical cells. The potential distribution inside a rectangle with the electrodes facing each other between two insulators is presented to illustrate the method. It is shown that the method yields analytic equations for the potential and the potential gradient along the lines. The unique attribute of the technique developed is that the solution once obtained is valid for nonlinear boundary conditions also. The procedure is applied to some realistic problems encountered in electrochemical engineering to illustrate the utility of the technique developed. © 2000 The Electrochemical Society. Simulating Shape Changes during Electrodeposition Primary and Secondary Current Distribution
A technique based on the analytical method of lines is presented for predicting shape changes during electrodeposition. The technique is presented for both primary and secondary current distributions. The method presented does not require iterations for nonlinear Butler-Volmer boundary conditions or changing electrode shapes. The technique is based on a semianalytical method developed earlier f...
متن کاملA Semianalytical Method for Nonlinear Vibration of Euler-Bernoulli Beams with General Boundary Conditions
This paper presents a new semianalytical approach for geometrically nonlinear vibration analysis of Euler-Bernoulli beams with different boundary conditions. The method makes use of Linstedt-Poincaré perturbation technique to transform the nonlinear governing equations into a linear differential equation system, whose solutions are then sought through the use of differential quadrature approxim...

In this paper we discuss about nonlinear pseudoparabolic equations with nonlocal boundary conditions and their results. An effective error estimation for this method altough has not yet been discussed. The aim of this paper is to fill this gap.
متن کاملApplication of the method of multiple scales for nonlinear vibration analysis of mechanical systems with dry and lubricated clearance joints
In this study, the method of multiple scales is used to perform a nonlinear vibration analysis of a mechanical system in two cases; with dry and lubricated clearance joints. In the dry contact case, the Lankarani-Nikravesh model is used to represent the contact force between the joined bodies. The surface elasticity is modeled as a nonlinear spring-damper element. Primary resonance is discussed...
متن کاملNon-Darcian Mixed Convection Flow in Vertical Composite Channels with Hybrid Boundary Conditions
In this article, the effects of viscous dissipation and inertial force on the velocity and temperature distributions of the mixed convection laminar flow in a vertical channel partly filled with a saturated porous medium have been studied. In this regard, the Brinkman–Forchheimer extended Darcy model was adopted for the fluid flow in the porous region. In addition, three different viscous dissi...
