A comparison of cardiac motion analysis software packages: application to left ventricular deformation analysis in hypertensive patients
نویسندگان
چکیده
Background Although myocardial function is clinically assessed with global measurements (ventricular volumes, ejection fraction), recent research has shown that regional measurements, such as wall-thickening, strain, and torsion, could provide earlier sub-clinical markers to examine left ventricular (LV) dysfunction and myocardial diseases. Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance myocardial feature tracking (CMR-FT) technique is used to post-process cine CMR images to provide a quantitative assessment of LV motion deformation parameters. It derives myocardial motion deformation from image features such as myocardium-blood cavity boundary and pixel intensities, and relies only on standard cine images to extract motion deformation. The main objective of this study is to compare two current feature tracking software packages in hypertensive patients.

A comparison of cardiac motion analysis software packages: application to left ventricular deformation analysis in healthy subjects
Background Feature tracking (FT) software packages measure myocardial wall motion deformation parameters through the cardiac cycle. Myocardial tagging technique is currently considered the gold standard for myocardial deformation measurements. This study compares 2 FT-software packages with a tagging software package and investigates the differences in strain deformation parameters measured in ...
متن کاملEvaluation of the potential impact of reconstruction method on dyssynchrony parameters derived by phase analysis of gated-SPECT MPI: Comparison of two quantitative software
Introduction: Gated SPECT myocardial perfusion scanning has new capabilities in addition to its main applications such as left ventricular dyssynchrony using phase analysis. Phase analysis has been investigated through various software including Emory Cardiac Toolbox (ECTb) and Quantitative Gated SPECT (QGS). The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of reconstruction par...

Background: The cardiac effects simultaneously occurring during experimental hypertension and diabetes have rarely been investigated. This study aimed at examining the effects of short-term renovascular hypertension and type 2 diabetes on cardiac functions. Methods: Five groups (7 each) of male Sprague-Dawley rats, including a control group, a diabetes (induced by Streptozocin and Nicotinamide)...
متن کاملComparison of Cardiac Function in Young Patients with Thalassemia Intermedia and Healthy Individuals Using Echocardiography Method
Background: Cardiac dysfunction due to chronic anemia and hemosiderosis are the major causes of death among patients with thalassemia intermedia. This study was performed to compare the cardiac function in thalassemia intermedia patients with normal subjects by means of echocardiography. Materials and Methods: This was a case-control study performed on 22 patients affected by thalassemia int...
متن کاملThe Correlation between Left and Right Ventricular Ejection Fractions in Patients with Ischemic Heart Disease, Documented by Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging
Introduction: The correlation between right and left ventricular ejection fractions (RVEF and LVEF, respectively) has been studied in only a small number of patients with a marked decrease in RVEF and LVEF. The aim of the present study was to compare LVEF and RVEF in patients with ischemic heart disease. RVEF and LVEF were measured by Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (CMR) imaging. Materials a...
