چکیده

This paper reports the measurement and analysis of wideband radio channel at 1900 MHz within a special propagation environment as the Olympic Stadium of Athens. RMS delay spread values are evaluated as well as the coherence bandwidth of the channel is derived by the frequency correlation function. Mean delay spread was found 0.314 μs and 0.731 μs for LoS and NLoS conditions respectively. The mean coherence bandwidth that characterizes the entire area reaches 3.463 MHz providing wide transmission data rates. Correlation bandwidth is found to be inversely proportional to the RMS delay spread and modeled in a minimum mean square error sense.

The Impact of Surrounding Buildings on Propagation for Wireless In-building Personal Communications System Design

This paper studies the impact of surrounding buildings on path loss and multipath delay spread for Personal Communication Services (PCS) operating inside of buildings. Measurements conducted inside three large office buildings in the San Francisco Bay area provide an extensive database for propagation models at 915 MHz and 1900 Wlz, and show variability in path loss and delay spread caused by m...

Propagation characteristics for wideband outdoor mobile communications at 5.3 GHz

In this paper, empirical channel models and parameters are derived from the wideband measured data at 5.3 GHz in outdoor mobile communications. The path loss exponents and intercepts are obtained by using the least square method. The mean excess delay and mean root-mean-square (rms) delay spread are within 29–102 ns and 22–88 ns, respectively. The correlation distances and bandwidths are within...

Wideband Air-to-ground Radio Channel Measurements Using an Antenna Array at 2 Ghz for Low-alititude Operations

Wideband measurements were perfonned using a directsequence spread-spectrum measurement system in the airto-ground radio environment to characterize propagation between an airborne transmitter and a ground-based receiving antenna array at a center frequency of 2.05 GHz. The transmitter was flown along constant-radius arcs at low altitudes around the receiver location to obtain measurement resul...

U Indoor Multipath Wireless Channel Experimental Characterization Utilizing Time Domain Techniques

In this paper an experimental characterization of a typical indoor wireless propagation channel is performed. This channel characterization is needed for short range applications (<10m), utilizing Ultra-Wideband Impulse Radio (UWB-IR) techniques. Both the line of sight (LOS) and the non line of sight (NLOS) scenarios are taken into account. The characterization is done using time domain measure...
