Non-invasive estimation of cardiac wall stress by using tissue doppler-echocardiography ultrasound images: People with coronary artery stenosis

In this study, a method for non-invasive estimation of stress on the heart wall in  the diastole phase is presented using ultrasound echocardiography and tissue Doppler  imaging. The aim of this study was to evaluate the stress on the heart wall as a  pre-diagnosis  to identify people with coronary artery stenosis. 29 patients with stenosis of more than 70%, 30 patients with stenosis of 50 to 7...

Non-invasive diagnosis and assessment of tricuspid regurgitation and stenosis using one and two dimensional echo-pulsed Doppler.

Twenty normal subjects and 82 patients with valvular heart disease, whose lesions were independently assessed either by cardiac catheterisation and/or at operation, were studied using the pulsed Doppler technique combined with either one or two dimensional echocardiography. Of these, 41 patients had tricuspid lesions, including 40 with regurgitation and nine with stenosis. The tricuspid analogu...

Evaluation of ejection murmurs by pulsed Doppler echocardiography.

A common problem is a soft basal ejection murmur in an asymptomatic child with a normal electrocardiogram and chest x-ray films. If the diagnosis is aortic stenosis, there is a need for prophylaxis for subacute bacterial endocarditis and concern about development of calcific aortic stenosis. In 40 consecutive children referred for this differential diagnosis, aortic stenosis was diagnosed in 30...

Noninvasive Prediction of Transvalvular Pressure Gradient in Patients with Pulmonary Stenosis by Quantitative Iwo-dimensional Echocardiographic Doppler Studies

Recent studies suggest that maximal Doppler velocities measured within the jets that form downstream from stenotic valves can be used to predict aortic valve gradients. To test whether the Doppler method would be useful for evaluation and management of pediatric patients with right ventricular outflow obstruction, we evaluated pulmonary artery flow before catheterization in 16 children with pul...
