Of Tropical Cyclones and Its Response to Artificial Enhancement of the Convective Heating Functions

چکیده
Simulations of the natural (unmodified) evolution of tropical cyclones with a circularly symmetric model suggest that seeding of hurricanes with silver iodide a t radii greater than that of the surface wind maximum might be more effective in decreasing the surface wind maximum than seedings at or within the wind maximum. Seeding simulations with the model strongly suggest that the model storm responds in the sense anticipated. On the other hand, simulated seedings at radii less than that of the surface wind maximum produce temporary increases in the strength of the maximum. However, termination of the seeding is followed by a rapid recovery of the modified storm t o a state close to that of the control.

Climatic geography of Tropical Cyclone hazards Affective on the southern coasts of Iran The occurrence of any climatic fringes, including annual tropical storms, leave irreparable risks in its dominated areas. Understanding these events and knowledge of the time of their occurrence can be helpful in managing the unexpected incidents caused by them. Tropical cyclones are important natural turbu...
متن کاملNon-rotating and rotating radiative-convective equilibrium
Radiative-convective equilibrium (RCE), in which the radiative cooling in the atmosphere is balanced by the convective heating in a horizontally homogeneous environment, is a good starting point for studying tropical convection. It also provides an idealized framework to compare analogous simulations by global climate models (GCMs) which rely on convective parameterizations, and cloud-resolving...
متن کاملStratiform Precipitation in Regions of Convection: A Meteorological Paradox?
It was once generally thought that stratiform precipitation was something occurring primarily, if not exclusively, in middle latitudes—in baroclinic cyclones and fronts. Early radar observations in the Tropics, however, showed large radar echoes composed of convective rain alongside stratiform precipitation, with the stratiform echoes covering great areas and accounting for a large portion of t...
متن کاملTropical Cyclogenesis Associated with Kelvin Waves and the Madden–Julian Oscillation
The Madden–Julian oscillation (MJO) influences tropical cyclone formation around the globe. Convectively coupled Kelvin waves are often embedded within the MJO, but their role in tropical cyclogenesis remains uncertain. This case study identifies the influences of the MJO and a series of Kelvin waves on the formation of two tropical cyclones. Typhoons Rammasun and Chataan developed in the weste...
متن کاملWMO/CAS/WWW SIXTH INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON TROPICAL CYCLONES Topic 2.2: Internal influences on Tropical Cyclone formation Rapporteurs:
This report summarizes work completed since ITWC-V that contributes to an improved understanding of the internal influences on tropical cyclone (TC) formation. The report argues the importance of low-level vorticity enhancement during TC genesis due to convergence in convective regions, both on the individual convective element scale and on the system scale. It is argued that large-scale proces...
