Supporting cost-effective innovation
نویسنده
چکیده
innovation &IN THE NANOSCALE regime, speed and density of semiconductor technology continue to increase. However, skyrocketing design costs for developing gigascale system chips have effectively slowed the creation of new design projects. Such a trend could stifle further innovation and advancement in the semiconductor industry. A recent joint report from the Semiconductor Research Corporation (SRC) and the National Science Foundation (NSF), entitled Future Directions in Design Automation Research (http://www.src.org/member/sa/perspectives/corner/ DesignAutomation_FinalReport.pdf) states the following:

Problems and Promises of Health Technologies: The Role of Early Health Economic Modeling
Background To assess whether early health economic modeling helps to distinguish those healthcare innovations that are potentially cost-effective from those that are not potentially cost-effective. We will also study what information is retrieved from the health economic models to inform further development, research and implementation decisions. Methods We performed s...
متن کاملAn Efficient and Cost Effective Protocol for In Vitro Propagation of Pineapple
An efficient and cost effective protocol for in vitro propagation of Pineapple (Ananas comosus var. Queen) has been developed. In the proliferation stage, agar based Murashige and Skoog (MS) media was supplemented with 3.0 mg/l benzyleaminopurine (BAP), 0.5 mg/l indole acetic acid (IAA) and 50 mg/l adenine sulphate as RBC design experiment. Two approaches were taken to reduce the chemical cost ...
متن کاملHealth Technology Assessment: Global Advocacy and Local Realities; Comment on “Priority Setting for Universal Health Coverage: We Need Evidence-Informed Deliberative Processes, Not Just More Evidence on Cost-Effectiveness”
Cost-effectiveness analysis (CEA) can help countries attain and sustain universal health coverage (UHC), as long as it is context-specific and considered within deliberative processes at the country level. Institutionalising robust deliberative processes requires significant time and resources, however, and countries often begin by demanding evidence (including local CEA evidence as well as evi...
متن کاملHow Should Global Fund Use Value-for-Money Information to Sustain its Investments in Graduating Countries?
It has been debated whether the Global Fund (GF), which is supporting the implementation of programs on the prevention and control of HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis (TB) and malaria, should consider the value-for-money (VFM) for programs/interventions that they are supporting. In this paper, we critically analyze the uses of economic information for GF programs, not only to ensure accountability to the...
متن کاملThe Payback of Effective Innovation Programs:Empirical Evidence from Firms that HaveWon Innovation Awards
Despite the widely held belief of the importance of innovation, the connection between innovation and firm performance is empirically inconclusive, partially owing to the limitations of existing innovation measures, which tend to ignore the effectiveness of innovation programs. In this study, we use the winning of innovation awards as a proxy for the effective execution of innovation. We conduc...
