چکیده

We present an approach for dense estimation of motion and depth of a scene containing a multiple number of differently moving objects with the camera system itself being in motion. The estimates are used to segregate the image sequence into a number of independently moving objects by assigning the object hypothesis with maximum a posteriori (MAP) probability to each image point. Different to previous approaches in 3-dimensional (3D) scene analysis, we tackle this task by first simultaneously estimating motion and depth for a salient set of feature points in a recursive manner. Based on the evolving set of estimated motion profiles, the scene depth is recovered densely from spatially and temporally separated views. Given the dense depth map and the set of tracked motion estimates, the likelihood of each image point to belong to one of the distinct motion profiles can be determined and dense scene segmentation can be performed. Within our probabilistic model the expectationmaximization (EM) algorithm is used to solve the inherent missing data problem. A Markov Random Field (MRF) is used to express our expectations on spatial and temporal continuity of objects.

Computation Optical Flow Using Pipeline Architecture

Accurate estimation of motion from time-varying imagery has been a popular problem in vision studies, This information can be used in segmentation, 3D motion and shape recovery, target tracking, and other problems in scene analysis and interpretation. We have presented a dynamic image model for estimating image motion from image sequences, and have shown how the solution can be obtained from a ...

Region-Based Parametric Motion Segmentation Using Color Information

This paper presents pixel-based and region-based parametric motion segmentation methods for robust motion segmentation with the goal of aligning motion boundaries with those of real objects in a scene. We first describe a two-step iterative procedure for parametric motion segmentation by either motion-vector or motioncompensated intensity matching. We next present a region-based extension of th...

Traffic Scene Analysis using Hierarchical Sparse Topical Coding

Analyzing motion patterns in traffic videos can be exploited directly to generate high-level descriptions of the video contents. Such descriptions may further be employed in different traffic applications such as traffic phase detection and abnormal event detection. One of the most recent and successful unsupervised methods for complex traffic scene analysis is based on topic models. In this pa...

An Improved Motion Vector Estimation Approach for Video Error Concealment Based on the Video Scene Analysis

In order to enhance the accuracy of the motion vector (MV) estimation and also reduce the error propagation issue during the estimation, in this paper, a new adaptive error concealment (EC) approach is proposed based on the information extracted from the video scene. In this regard, the motion information of the video scene around the degraded MB is first analyzed to estimate the motion type of...

Object-based scene segmentation combining motion and image cues

This paper presents an object-based scene segmentation algorithm which combines the temporal information (e.g. motion) from video and image cues from individual frame. First a motionbased segmentation is decided based on the Hierarchical Principal Component Split (HPCS) algorithm for multi-moving-object motion classification. HPCS is a binary-tree-structured recursive procedure which clusters t...
