The decay time scale for highly excited nuclei as seen from asymmetrical emission of particles

چکیده
A novel method was developed for the extraction of short emission times of light particles from the projectile-like fragments in peripheral deep-inelastic collisions in the Fermi energy domain. We were able to determine the emission times in the interval 50-500 fm/c using asymmetrical emission of light particles observed in reaction 28Si + 112Sn at 50 MeV/nucleon. The backward emission anisotropy of αparticles relative to largest residue was compared to the values calculated from the statistical evaporation model in the case of the Coulomb interaction with the target. The extracted times are consistent with predictions based on the evaporation decay width.

Quantization of electromagnetic fields in the presence of a spherical semiconductor quantum dot and spontaneous decay of an excited atom doped in this nanostructure
In this paper we consider electromagnetic field quantization in the presence of a dispersive and absorbing semiconductor quantum dot. By using macroscopic approach and Green's function method, quantization of electromagnetic field is investigated. Interaction of a two-level atom , which is doped in a semiconductor quantum dot, with the quantized field is considered and its spontaneous emission ...

Introduction: 238U decays with alpha particles emission into 234Th and the series ends with 206Pb. The unstable nucleus loses the energy with emitting ionizing alpha particles for reaching a stable state. It is undergoing alpha decay with decay energy (4.679 MeV). Alpha particles enter the human and animal bodies through inhalation of air or ingestion of contaminated food and water. This study ...

محاسبه و بررسی سیستماتیکی پارامتر چگالی ترازهای هستهای
The knowledge of nuclear reaction rates is important for studying energy production and nucleosynthesis, especially in reactions including nuclei far from stability line, which are not accessible experimentally so far and thus it is necessary to be able to predict reaction cross sections in low excitation energies. Nuclear level density is one of the important key quantities in many nuclear phy...
متن کاملStudy of light proton-rich nuclei by complete kinematics measurements
Light proton-rich bound and unbound nuclei were produced by means of stripping reactions of secondary beams of Mg and Ne. The decays of the unbound nuclei Na have been measured by detecting their decay products Ne and one proton and by performing an invariant-mass reconstruction. For Na, the present work is the first measurement of its decay. As the decay scheme of this nucleus could not be det...
