چکیده

Methods A 66-year-old man was admitted to our hospital on November 11, 2012. He had a painful, pulseless, and cold below-knee in right lower extremity. He had previous right cross-over composite sequential femoropopliteal bypass. Angiography showed acute occlusion of cross-over composite femoro-popliteal bypass graft and stent graft used in treatment of pseudoaneurysm developing in popliteal anastomosis region of this graft. Proximal EPTFE graft was occluded with thrombus in arteriography.

Stent graft repair of anastomotic pseudoaneurysm of femoral–popliteal bypass graft following patch angioplasty

Pseudoaneurysm (PA) following vascular reconstruction is a complication of bypass surgery. Historically, the mainstay of treatment was an open repair; the surgical management consisted of resection of the initial graft with reimplantation of a new bypass either into the original arteriotomy or to a more distal target. Placement of a stent graft to exclude the PA is a viable option. We present a...

A Comparison of Interposition and Femoropopliteal Bypass Grafts in the Management of Popliteal Artery Trauma

Background: Peripheral vascular injury associated with lower limb trauma is a well-known emergency. The experience for the management of popliteal artery trauma have mainly come from managing the traumas of military personnels during Iran-Iraq war. The present study compared the effects of two currently-used surgical techniques in the management of popliteal trauma, namley femoropopliteal bypas...

Long-term outcome of crossover femoro-femoro-popliteal bypass using side-to-side anastomosis in ilio-femoral occlusive disease

PURPOSE During crossover femoro-femoro-popliteal sequential bypass (CFFPB) surgery in ilio-femoral occlusive disease, proximal anastomosis of the femoro-popliteal bypass is usually performed distal to the distal anastomosis of the crossover femoro-femoral bypass. If not, it is done with a piggyback configuration. Another method is a side-to-side anastomosis. Its benefit is that this is the only...

Endograft connector technique to treat popliteal artery aneurysm in a morbid obese patient.

Surgical repair of popliteal artery aneurysm in morbid obese patients poses additional challenges. We report a morbid obese patient who had a 59 mm right popliteal artery aneurysm which was successfully treated with the endograft connector technique. This technique was used to perform the distal anastomosis of the below-knee femoro-popliteal bypass. A 10 mm Dacron graft was used as a main graft...

Background: Chronic lower limb ischemia is a dreadful disease and may present with intermittent claudication, rest pain and ischemic gangrene. Apart from life style modification and treating risk factors either angioplasty and stenting or surgical bypass are the mainstay of treatment. For infrainguinal bypasses reversed saphenous venous grafts are the conduits of choice because it is autologous...
