Extended utility and DEA models without explicit input

چکیده
In this paper, we discuss the relationship between multi-attribute utility theory and DEA models without explicit inputs (DEA-WEI), including dual models and some theoretical analysis of DEA-WEI models. We then propose generic DEA-WEI models with quadratic utility terms. Finally, we provide illustrative examples to show that DEA-WEI with suitable quadratic utility terms are able to reflect some value judgments that the standard DEA models cannot.

Modified DEA models without explicite inputs
In performance evaluations, data without explicit inputs (such as index data, pure output data) are widely used. To directly use such data, this paper presents a study on building DEA models without explicit inputs,DEA-WEI models, in which convexity assumption is considered to be satisfied while the ratio data are constructed. Finally, an example of the modified DEA-WEI model is presented and c...
متن کاملFlexibility of Variations in Radial and Non-Radial Data Envelopment Analysis Models
One of the major problems in Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is to determine the projection of inefficient Decision Making Units (DMUs) into the efficient frontier. In conventional DEA models, inputs and outputs of inefficient DMUs alter arbitrarily for reaching to the efficient frontier. Nevertheless, sometimes the ability of DMUs is defined and restricted. Moreover, there are situations in th...
متن کاملRelation Between Imprecise DESA and MOLP Methods
It is generally accepted that Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is a method for indicating efficiency. The DEA method has many applications in the field of calculating the relative efficiency of Decision Making Units (DMU) in explicit input-output environments. Regarding imprecise data, several definitions of efficiency can be found. The aim of our work is showing an equivalence relation between ...
متن کاملEvaluating the efficiency and classifying the fuzzy data: A DEA based approach
Data envelopment analysis (DEA) has been proven as an efficient technique to evaluate the performance of homogeneous decision making units (DMUs) where multiple inputs and outputs exist. In the conventional applications of DEA, the data are considered as specific numerical values with explicit designation of being an input or output. However, the observed values of the data are sometimes imprec...
متن کاملEffect of Relocation and Rotation on Radial Efficiency Scores for a Partially Negative Data Problem
Negative data handling has gained a remarkable importance in the literature of Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) to address many real life problems. Various erstwhile applications, in this arena, referred relocation of the origin to a superior (RDM) or to an inferior (Translated Input Oriented BCC) neighboring point. In this paper, the conditions for Rotation Invariance of various Data Envelop...
