چکیده

e-Services are just like normal services, but can be ordered and provisioned via the Internet completely. Increasingly, these e-services are offered as a multi-supplier bundle of elementary services. How to automatically compose and prioritize these multi-supplier e-service bundles is considered as a key problem. In this paper, we present the eservice ontology to represent a multi-supplier e-service catalogue from a consumer need perspective. Then, we use this ontology to reason about alternative e-service bundles satisfying a particular need, and to prioritize the found bundles using the consumer benefits they provide. The ontology and the reasoning process are illustrated by a case study in the Dutch telecommunication industry.

Preference Trees: A Language for Representing and Reasoning about Qualitative Preferences

We introduce a novel qualitative preference representation language, preference trees, or P-trees. We show that the language is intuitive to specify preferences over combinatorial domains and it extends existing preference formalisms such as LP-trees, ASO-rules and possibilistic logic. We study reasoning problems with P-trees and obtain computational complexity results.

A logical reasoning with preference

In a decision making context, multiple choices of actions are usually ooered to solve a particular problem. Consequently, the question of preferences among the actions will occur. The ordering of recommended actions by preference is made by taking into account the states of the universe of discourse. We develop here a logic L p for reasoning about preferences in such circumstances. The language...

Preference Learning with Strength

In order for machines to effectively collaborate with humans computers must be able to learn, and reason about, human preferences. Requesting a person to exhaustively assess their preferences regarding individual objects has been shown to be inaccurate and tiresome. We elicit preference automatically from data comprising human supplied pairwise comparisons, which invokes lower cognitive effort ...

TCP-Compose* - A TCP-Net Based Algorithm for Efficient Composition of Web Services Using Qualitative Preferences

In many practical applications, trade-offs involving non-functional attributes e.g., availability, performance play an important role in selecting component services in assembling a feasible composition, i.e., a composite service that achieves the desired functionality. We present TCP-Compose , an algorithm for service composition that identifies, from a set of candidate solutions that achieve t...

Modeling and Reasoning About User Preferences in Service-Oriented Architectures

Service-Oriented Architectures and Web service technologies are the growing trend in software architectures to build platform-independent software components. Web services implement in fact specific piece of functionalities which can be world-wide advertised, accessed, and consumed by users. In this context, service discovery and selection play an important role w.r.t. the search and selection ...
