Impact of Configurable Network Features in ATOLL

چکیده
ATOLL (Atomic Low Latency) is a new high speed interconnect solution for cluster computing. It is equipped with a fully integrated network on a chip, which is currently a unique feature. Therefore hostinterface, network interface and switch come as one, integrated, single solution. Moreover, the network interface card allows for dynamic reconfiguration during runtime. This includes dynamic profiling as well as dynamic (wormhole) routing. Last but not least, one hostinterface can be set up to allow for zero copy data transfers. This paper describes configurable network features in ATOLL and how applications and software libraries can benefit from them.

FORMATION OF ATOLL GARNET IN THE ARDARA AUREOLE, NW IRELAND
The formation of atoll garnet in the Ardara aureole, NW Ireland, is discussed using the textural, chemical and Electron Backscatter Diffraction (EBSD) data. Textural evidence suggests the possibility of incipient of garnet replacement from the core. In addition, the presence of staurolite and andalusite in the core of small atoll garnets as well as the occurrence of sillimanite in the core of l...

The design provides many new and unique features, which makes ATOLL an enabling technology in the area of cluster computing. After finishing the ATOLL design space analysis our...
متن کاملReliable Flow Control Coding in Low-Buffer Grid Networks
We consider a grid network where nodes contain small buffers. A packet that faces a crowded buffer in its route will get extra latency and may be dropped. In this paper, we propose a novel flow control protocol called RFCC for grid networks. RFCC tries to reroute delayed packets and utilizes network coding to introduce a configurable amount of redundant information in the network, thereby incre...

متن کاملATOLL, a New Switched, High Speed Interconnect in Comparison to Myrinet and SCI
While standard processors achieve supercomputer performance, a performance gap exists between the interconnect of MPP's and COTS. Standard solutions like Ethernet can not keep up with the demand for high speed communication of todays powerful CPU's. Hence, high speed interconnects have an important impact on a cluster's performance. While standard solutions for processing nodes exist, communica...
