In this paper we extend the well-known Vitali-Hahn-Saks and Nikodým theorems for measures to finitely additive vector-valued set functions.

Non-commutative locally convex measures
We study weakly compact operators from a C∗-algebra with values in a complete locally convex space. They constitute a natural non-commutative generalization of finitely additive vector measures with values in a locally convex space. Several results of Brooks, Sâıto and Wright are extended to this more general setting. Building on an approach due to Sâıto and Wright, we obtain our theorems on no...
متن کاملFinitely additive measures on groups and rings
On arbitrary topological groups a natural finitely additive measure can be defined via compactifications. It is closely related to Hartman’s concept of uniform distribution on non-compact groups (cf. [Ha]). Applications to several situations are possible. Some results of M. Paštéka and other authors on uniform distribution with respect to translation invariant finitely additive probability meas...
متن کاملChattering variations, finitely additive measures, and the nonsmooth maximum principle with state space constraints
We discuss the proof of a version of the maximum principle with state space constraints for data with very weak regularity properties, using the classical method of packets of needle variations (PNVs), as in Pontryagin’s book, but coupling it with a nonclassical theory of multivalued differentials, the so-called “generalized differential quotients” (GDQs). The key technical point of our argumen...
متن کاملCompleteness and interpolation of almost-everywhere quantification over finitely additive measures
We give an axiomatization of first-order logic enriched with the almosteverywhere quantifier over finitely additive measures. Using an adapted version of the consistency property adequate for dealing with this generalized quantifier, we show that such a logic is both strongly complete and enjoys Craig interpolation, relying on a (countable) model existence theorem. We also discuss possible exte...
متن کاملSOME REMARKS CONCERNING FINITELY SUBADDmVE OUTER MEASURES WITH APPUCATIONS
The present paper is intended as a first step toward the establishment of a general theory of finitely subadditive outer measures. First, a general method for constructing a finitely subadditive outer measure and an associated finitely additive measure on any space is presented. This is followed by a discussion ofthe theory ofinner measures, their construction, and the relationship oftheir prop...
