چکیده

Resonance-enhanced multiphoton ionization coupled with time-of-flight product imaging has been used to study the O2(Σg) + O(Pj) product channel in the UV photodissociation of ozone at photolysis wavelengths of 226, 230, 240, and 266 nm. For dissociation at 226 and 230 nm the O(P2) fragment is produced with a strongly bimodal velocity distribution, in keeping with the previous findings of Miller et al., Syage, and Stranges et al. at photolysis wavelengths of 226 and 193 nm. At the longer dissociation wavelengths of 240 and 266 nm, the bimodal velocity distribution becomes less evident in the O(P2) product. Anisotropy parameters have been determined as a function of the O(P2) fragment speed. A very similar and clear speed dependence is evident at all photolysis wavelengths considered, with the anisotropy parameters rising steadily as the oxygen atom speed increases. The UV dissociation dynamics of ozone to the channel producing triplet products are discussed in light of this analysis.

O(1D2) orbital orientation in the ultraviolet photodissociation of ozone.

We present the absolute velocity-dependent orbital orientation for O(1D2) atoms produced from the photodissociation of ozone in the 248-285 nm region obtained using the DC slice imaging method. The results are analyzed in terms of laboratory frame anisotropy parameters describing distinct excitation and dissociation mechanisms possessing characteristic angular distributions. The results show ne...

The photodissociation dynamics of ozone at 226 and 248 nm: O(3PJ) atomic angular momentum polarization.

Speed distributions, and spatial anisotropy and atomic angular momentum polarization parameters have been determined for the O((3)P(J)) products following the photodissociation of ozone at 248 and 226 nm using velocity map ion imaging. The data have been interpreted in terms of two dissociation mechanisms that give rise to fast and slow products. In both cases, excitation is believed to occur t...

Production of O2 Herzberg states in the deep UV photodissociation of ozone.

High-resolution imaging experiments combined with new electronic structure and dynamics calculations strongly indicate that the O((3)P)+O(2) products with very low kinetic energy release (E(tr)<0.2 eV) formed in the deep UV (226 nm) photodissociation of ozone reflect excitation of the Herzberg states of O(2): A(')(3)Delta(u)(v=0,1,2) and A (3)Sigma(u)(+)(v=0,1). This interpretation contradicts ...

Study of tropospheric ozone concentration trend of Kermanshah by meteorological parameter and ozone precursor and OMI images

Abstract: Clean air is a necessity for human well-being and health. Air pollution is a major threat to humans and other organisms and is considered as one of the environmental challenges. Today, with the increase in air pollution, the need to know more about the causes of its occurrence has been raised. The various consequences of air pollution have made air quality monitoring and control inev...

Influence of UV irradiation and ozone on atmospheric corrosion of bare silver

The corrosion of Ag in an atmosphere of ozone and humidity with or without irradiation by ultraviolet (UV) light was investigated. A modified coulometric reduction technique was used, substituting sulphate solution for chloride solution, to prevent the spontaneous transformation of silver oxide corrosion product to chloride in the reduction solution. The presence of both ozone and UV radiation ...
