Nuclear Magnetic Resonance With No Magnets
نویسنده
چکیده
Spectroscopy with conventional nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) requires large, expensive, superconducting magnets cooled by liquid helium, like the one in the background. The Pines and Budker groups have demonstrated NMR spectroscopy with a device only a few centimeters high, using no magnets at all (foreground). A chemical sample in the test tube (green) is polarized by introducing hydrogen gas in the parahydrogen form. The sample’s NMR is measured with an opticalatomic magnetometer, at center; laser beams crossing at right angles pump and probe the atoms in the microfabricated vapor cell. متن کاملHigh-field NMR using resistive and hybrid magnets.
Resistive and resistive-superconducting hybrid magnets can generate dc magnetic fields much higher than conventional superconducting NMR magnets but the field spatial homogeneity and temporal stability are usually not sufficient for high-resolution NMR experiments. Hardware and technique development addressing these issues are presented for high-resolution NMR at magnetic fields up to 40T. Pass...

Introduction Radiofrequency planar microcoils are used to increase the resolution of magnetic resonance images of small samples. In this study, we aimed to design and fabricate a spiral planar microcoil constructed on a double-sided printed circuit board (PCB). It has four rings with an internal diameter of 241 microns tuned and matched at 63.8 MHz. Materials and Methods To achieve the maximum ...
