چکیده

We found strong zero bias conductance peak enhancement in Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8 by tunneling in the ab-plane direction. Our results are consistent with recent studies on Andreev reflection between a d-wave superconductor and normal metal. We have also observed exotic behaviors of the conductance peak if the counter electrode is a conventional superconductor. If these characteristics are better understood, they can be very useful in studying the pairing properties in high Tc superconductors. 73.40 Gk, 74.50+r, 74.80Fp Typeset using REVTEX

Single Junction and Intrinsic Josephson Junction Tunneling Spectroscopies of Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+δ

Tunneling spectroscopy measurements are reported on optimally-doped and overdoped Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+δ single crystals. A novel point contact method is used to obtain superconductor-insulator-normal metal (SIN) and SIS break junctions as well as intrinsic Josephson junctions (IJJ) from nanoscale crystals. Three junction types are obtained on the same crystal to compare the quasiparticle peaks and hi...

Andreev Bound States and Josephson Coupling in YBa2Cu3O7−δ/Pb tunnel junctions

We have made in-situ [103] and [110]YBCO/Pb junctions, which display an hysteretic behaviour with both a well-defined Quasi-Particule branch and a Josephson current. A zero energy conductance peak is observed in the tunneling conductance which is a signature of Andreev Bound States (ABS) at a surface of a d-wave superconductor. The observed splitting of this peak at low temperature may confirm ...

Zero bias conductance peak (ZBCP) is known to occur in junctions between normal metal and conventional superconductor. This phenomenon is conventionally explained by Andreev reflection of the tunneling electrons at the interface and the ZBCP

normal metal and conventional superconductor. This phenomenon is conventionally explained by Andreev reflection of the tunneling electrons at the interface and the ZBCP height is limited to less than double of the normal conductance at higher bias. However, BSCCO is different from other conventional superconductors because of the d-wave characteristics of the order parameter. There are several ...

Theory of charge transport in diffusive normal metalÕconventional superconductor point contacts

Tunneling conductance in diffusive normal ~DN! metal/insulator/s-wave superconductor junctions is calculated for various situations by changing the magnitudes of the resistance and Thouless energy in DN and the transparency of the insulating barrier. The generalized boundary condition introduced by Nazarov @Superlattices and Microstructures 25, 1221 ~1999!# is applied, where the ballistic theor...

Point-contact Spectroscopy on Rusr 2 Gdcu 2 O 8

We present Point-Contact experiments on polycrystalline RuSr2GdCu2O8 samples. The majority of tunneling curves shows a zero-bias conductance peak, which is modeled by assuming a d-wave pairing symmetry of the superconducting order parameter. The magnetic field dependence of the conductance spectra has been measured in very stable junctions. In some cases, due to the granularity of the samples, ...
