with establishment of a separate Department of Endocrinology. Dr Sekso first gathered a team consisting of young, gifted and enthusiastic physicians; then he organized the department, polyclinic and diabe-tological service; as early as 1970 he gathered a team of young laboratory engineers and established the laboratory of endocrinology. Thus, modern endocrinology started developing at our Hospital, followed by organization of many special units for thyroid and pituitary diseases, neuroendocrinology, adrenal gland diseases, reproductive endocrinology, audiology, en-docrine hypertension, obesity, and osteopathy, thus covering the entire complex and important field of endocrinology. In 1977, Professor Sekso in collaboration with the Zagreb University School of Medicine organized postgraduate study in endocrinology (as the first Department cf Endocrinology staff members: the integration cf experience and youth continues the past and warrants the fu ture if the Department, Zagreb, 1986.
