چکیده
THIS ISSUE’S COLUMN reports on a presentation and papers from the 23rd International Working Conference on Requirements Engineering: Foundation for Software Quality (REFSQ 17). REFSQ aims to foster the creation of a strong European requirementsengineering community across industry and academia. Feedback and suggestions are welcome. In addition, if you try or adopt any of the practices included in the column, please send me and the paper authors a note about your experiences.

Requirement Traceability in Topcased with the Requirements Interchange Format (RIF/ReqIF)
Requirements Interchange Format (RIF/ReqIF) Submission for First Topcased Days Toulouse 2011 Andreas Graf, Michael Jastram 1 Overview One important step of the systems engineering process is requirements engineering. Parallel to the development of Topcased, which includes tooling for requirements engineering, a new standard for requirements exchange is emerging at the OMG under the name “ReqIF”...
متن کاملThe Importance of Continuous Value Based Project Management in the Context of Requirements Engineering
Companies continuously increased their IT investments over the last decades. Especially the number and complexity of large IT projects is growing. The complexity is intensified by dependencies within one or between different projects and processes and is boosted even further by the growing number of large projects. Another important influence is the rising uncertainty in an increasingly dynamic...
متن کاملOn Formal Requirements Modeling Languages: RML Revisited Invited Plenary Talk
Research issues related to requirements modeling are introduced and discussed through a review of the requirements modeling language RML, its peers and its successors from the time it was first proposed at the Sixth International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE-6) to the present—ten ICSEs later. We note that the central theme of “Capturing More World Knowledge” in the original RML prop...
متن کاملProducing Reliable Software via the Single Model Principle
We contrast software modelling languages and developments that are founded on use of a single model with those founded on use of multiple models. The advantages and disadvantages of each approach are discussed. We propose that to best support seamless and reversible development of reliable software, languages and developments that follow the single model principle are superior for late requirem...
متن کاملThe Role of Model-Oriented Software Architecture in Safety Engineering
The gap between the safety developments for critical systems and safety validations is very significant. In this paper, we propose to study the development of a safety framework that bridges the gap between safety developments and safety validations using a set of different but related models. Our proposed framework, among other things, includes a collection of models capturing both the behavio...
