XPL: An extended probabilistic logic for probabilistic transition systems

چکیده
Generalized Probabilistic Logic (GPL) is a temporal logic, based on the modal mu-calculus, for specifying properties of reactive probabilistic systems. GPL is expressive enough that termination of Recursive Markov Chains (RMCs) can be cast as a model checking problem over GPL. In this paper, we explore XPL, an extension to GPL for expressing properties of transition systems with probabilistic and nondeterministic behavior, such as Recursive Markov Decision Processes (Recursive MDPs or RMDPs). However, since termination of multi-exit RMDPs is undecidable, model checking in XPL is undecidable as well. We provide a model checking procedure for XPL that always terminates: either successfully with the model checking result, or with failure. We define a sufficient condition for success via a syntactically-characterized class, called separable XPL formulae. We show that a large class of problems, including termination of 1-exit RMDPs and PCTL* model checking of MDPs, can be reduced to the model checking of separable XPL formulae.

A Comparative Study of the Neural Network, Fuzzy Logic, and Nero-fuzzy Systems in Seismic Reservoir Characterization: An Example from Arab (Surmeh) Reservoir as an Iranian Gas Field, Persian Gulf Basin
Intelligent reservoir characterization using seismic attributes and hydraulic flow units has a vital role in the description of oil and gas traps. The predicted model allows an accurate understanding of the reservoir quality, especially at the un-cored well location. This study was conducted in two major steps. In the first step, the survey compared different intelligent techniques to discover ...
متن کاملA Probabilistic Extension of the Stable Model Semantics
We present a probabilistic extension of logic programs under the stable model semantics, inspired by the idea of Markov Logic Networks. The proposed language, called LP, is a generalization of logic programs under the stable model semantics, and as such, embraces the rich body of research in knowledge representation. The language is also a generalization of ProbLog, and is closely related to Ma...
متن کاملA Design Methodology for Reliable MRF-Based Logic Gates
Probabilistic-based methods have been used for designing noise tolerant circuits recently. In these methods, however, there is not any reliability mechanism that is essential for nanometer digital VLSI circuits. In this paper, we propose a novel method for designing reliable probabilistic-based logic gates. The advantage of the proposed method in comparison with previous probabilistic-based met...
متن کاملExtension of Cube Attack with Probabilistic Equations and its Application on Cryptanalysis of KATAN Cipher
Cube Attack is a successful case of Algebraic Attack. Cube Attack consists of two phases, linear equation extraction and solving the extracted equation system. Due to the high complexity of equation extraction phase in finding linear equations, we can extract nonlinear ones that could be approximated to linear equations with high probability. The probabilistic equations could be considered as l...
متن کاملSymbolic Computation of Minimal Probabilistic Reachability∗
This paper continues our study of the verification problem for infinitestate systems featuring both nondeterministic and probabilistic choice. In an earlier paper we defined symbolic probabilistic systems, an extension of the framework of symbolic transition systems due to Henzinger et. al., and considered the problem of deciding the maximal probability of reaching a set of target states. A sym...
