چکیده
We briefly discuss the status of the intermittency hypothesis, according to which the grand minima type variability in solar-type stars may be understood in terms of dynamical intermittency. We review concrete examples which establish this hypothesis in the mean-field setting. We discuss some difficulties and open problems regarding the establishment of this hypothesis in more realistic settings as well as its operationally decidability.

The possibility to study intermittency in a single event of high multiplicity is investigated in the framework of the α−model. It is found that, for cascade long enough, the dispersion of intermittency exponents obtained from individual events is fairly small. This fact opens the possibility to study the distribution of the intermittency parameters characterizing the cascades seen (by observing...

The energy spectrum of recoil electrons from solar neutrino scattering, as observed by Superkamiokande, is deformed with respect to that expected from SSM calculations. We considered ν − e scattering from neutrinos produced by the electron–capture on 8B nuclei, e +8 B →8 Be + νe, as a possible explanation of the spectral deformation. A flux ΦeB ≃ 10 4 cm−2 s−1 could account for Superkamiokande ...

The theory of inertial induction, which has been quite successful in explaining a number of hitherto unexplained astrophysical phenomena, predicts a redshift in light grazing massive objects. The total solar eclipse on 11 August 1999 offers an opportunity of testing the theory. In this paper we predict the additional redshift of a few stars during the eclipse and urge professional astronomers t...

We have constructed families of possible orbits for a collection of stars located within 0.5 " of Sgr A*. These are constrained by observed stellar positions and angular proper motions as listed in Ghez et al. (1998). Reconstructing these orbits allows us to make useful predictions for the likely positions of these stars in future observations. We also show that some of these stars may exhibit ...
