Transformations from EDOC to EJB by Composition of Mapping Operations
نویسنده
چکیده
Transformations from the Enterprise Distributed Object Computing (EDOC) to Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB) are examined herein from the point of view of an efficiency characteristic of result models. Transformations are composed of mapping operations. Mapping operations map an element or a group of elements of the EDOC model into an element or a group of elements of the EJB model. A standard proposal of mapping operations is defined by the Object Management Group (OMG). Alternative mapping operations, which generate EJB models of a better efficiency characteristic under certain circumstances, are proposed. Rules for composing mapping operations into EDOC – EJB transformations are suggested and illustrated by examples of EDOC – EJB transformations.

EDOC to EJB transformations within MDA
The Model Driven Architecture is a proposition of the framework of software development process where main accent is put on system models, i.e. platform independent and platform dependent models, and transformations between them. Applying the MDA is related with preparation of these two types of assets. In the thesis, the EDOC and the EJB platform are considered as an examples of platform-indep...
متن کاملMapping UML Component Specifications to JEE Implementations
Component-based Software Engineering (CbSE) has become a well-accepted approach for developing complex software systems due to its significant advantages on composition and reuse. In practice, however, its use still requires the conjunction of a component specification method that describes how system requirements are satisfied in terms of software components. Such a component specification is ...
متن کاملTowards Transformation Rule Composition
Many model transformation problems require different intermediate transformation steps. For example, platform-specific models (PSM) are often generated from platform-independent models (PIM) by chains of model transformations. This requires the presence of several intermediate meta-models between those of the PIM and the PSM. Thus, most of the effort is needed to define a transformation mechani...
متن کاملMapping Service Components to EJB Business Objects
The emerging trends for e-business engineering revolve around specialisation and cooperation. Successful companies focus on their core competencies and rely on a network of business partners for the support services required to compose a comprehensive offer for their customers. Modularity is crucial for a flexible e-business infrastructure, but related requirements seldom reflect on the design ...
متن کاملHow MDA Can Help Designing Component- and Aspect-based Applications
Distributed systems are inherently complex, and therefore difficult to design and develop. Experience shows that new technologies—such as components, aspects, and application frameworks—can be effectively used for building distributed applications. However, our experience also shows that most of the applications built in that way are difficult to be re-used, documented, and maintained. Probably...
