Adaptive Profiling Tool for Teacher Education

چکیده
In this paper we introduce EDUFORM, an adaptive questionnaire designed for profiling students in various educational contexts. The idea is to build a probabilistic model from previously gathered data, and use it for profiling other people more efficiently. EDUFORM selects the questions presented to each individual adaptively in order to minimize the number of answers needed for reliable prediction of the profile. Empirical evaluations suggest that 85-90% accuracy can be achieved, while the number of questions is reduced by 30-50%.

Learning outcomes as a tool to assess progression.
In the move to outcome-based education (OBE) much of the attention has focussed on the exit learning outcomes-the outcomes expected of a student at the end of a course of studies. It is important also to plan for and monitor students progression to the exit outcomes. A model is described for considering this progression through the phases of undergraduate education. Four dimensions are included...

Teachers using an Intelligent Tutoring System (ITS) to create learning sessions may well experience a cognitive overload, given the twin demands of having to teach while, at the same time, being engaged in learning how to use an ITS. Dealing with the combinatorial of topics and resources required to train instructors by using an adaptive hypermedia ITS is difficult, but we propose the applicati...

The framework was used to analyse two literacy practices encountered on initial teacher education courses in the post-compulsory education and training (PCET) phas...
