چکیده

Background: Some studies suggested that miR-499 rs3746444 polymorphism was associated with the risk of Coronary Artery Disease (CAD). However, the results were still unclear. Therefore, we conducted a meta-analysis. Method: An electronic literature search was conducted using the following database: PubMed, Embase and China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) till to June 2017. The strength of association was investigated by pooling Odds Ratio (OR) with its corresponding 95% Confidence Interval (CI). Results: In total, four studies with 2642 cases and 2260 controls were included in this meta-analysis. MiR-499 rs3746444 polymorphism was significantly associated with an increased risk of CAD (OR=1.30; 95% CI, 1.00-1.69). In the race subgroup analysis, Asians with miR-499 rs3746444 polymorphism did not show increased CAD risk (OR=1.25; 95%CI, 0.89-1.76). In the subgroup analysis according to source of control, hospital-based studied showed significantly association (OR=1.44; 95% CI, 1.11-1.86). Conclusion: In conclusion, this meta-analysis suggests that miR-499 rs3746444 polymorphism was associated with CAD risk.

Hsa-mir-499 rs3746444 polymorphism and cancer risk: a meta-analysis

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are gene regulators involved in numerous diseases including cancer, heart disease, neurological disorders, vascular abnormalities and autoimmune conditions. Although hsa-mir-499 rs3746444 polymorphism was shown to contribute to the susceptibility of multiple genes to cancer, the data have yielded conflicting results. Therefore, this meta-analysis was performed to provide a co...

Association of miR-196a2 rs11614913 and miR-499 rs3746444 polymorphisms with cancer risk: a meta-analysis

Background MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small non-coding RNA molecules, which participate in diverse biological processes and may regulate tumor suppressor genes or oncogenes. Rs11614913 in miR-196a2 and rs3746444 in miR-499 are shown to associate with increased/decreased cancer risk. This meta-analysis was performed to systematically assess the overall association. Materials and Methods We searche...

An A/G polymorphism rs3746444 in miR-499 is associated with increased cancer risk: a meta-analysis.

An A/G polymorphism (rs3746444) has been identified in the miR-499 gene that can change the conformation of the secondary gene structure and thereby directly affect binding to target mRNAs and the microRNA (miRNA) maturation process, thus altering protein expression and potentially contributing to cancer susceptibility. Numerous studies investigating the association between the rs3746444 polymo...

The association between miR-499 polymorphism and cancer susceptibility: a meta-analysis

BACKGROUND MicroRNAs are a class of new noncoding RNA that play important roles in the pathogenesis of tumor. Rs3746444 in miR-499 is suggested to be associated with cancer susceptibility. In the present study, we assess the association between miR-499 rs3746444 polymorphism and cancer susceptibility through a meta-analysis. METHODS We searched relevant articles from the PubMed and Embase dat...
