Power efficiency and optimum load formulas on RF rectifiers featuring flow-angle equations
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper considers three pairs of circuit schemes for RF rectification. Given finite available power from RF source and load resistance, we formulate DC output power and efficiency of each scheme. Resultant formulas find that load-to-source resistance ratio R/r dominates the circuit performance. Maximum efficiency reaches 81.1% at R/r = 1 for single-diode half wave rectifiers. It also reaches 92.3% for multiple-diode full wave ones at R/r = 1.347 in bridge with capacitor, 0.742 in bridge with inductor, 5.389 in double-voltage, and 0.1854 in double-current topologies.

This work addresses two key topics in the field of energy harvesting and wireless power transfer. The first is the optimum signal design for improved RF-DC conversion efficiency in rectifier circuits by using time varying envelope signals. The second is the design of rectifiers that present reduced sensitivity to input power and output load variations by introducing resistance compression netwo...
متن کاملBearing Capacity of Shallow Foundations on Cohesionless Soils: A Random Forest Based Approach
Determining the ultimate bearing capacity (UBC) is vital for design of shallow foundations. Recently, soft computing methods (i.e. artificial neural networks and support vector machines) have been used for this purpose. In this paper, Random Forest (RF) is utilized as a tree-based ensemble classifier for predicting the UBC of shallow foundations on cohesionless soils. The inputs of model are wi...
متن کاملA New Class of Low-Cost Three-Phase High-Quality Rectifiers with Zero-Voltage Switching
Several new schemes for constructing 3 lowharmonic rectifiers are introduced here. These 3 ac–dc topologies are derived from parent dc–dc converter topologies. With a single active switch featuring the zero-voltage switching (ZVS) property in addition to the diode-rectifier bridge, the rectifiers are capable of naturally drawing approximately sinusoidal input-current waveforms at nearly unity p...
متن کاملDevelopment of Integrated Magnetic Circuits for Low-Voltage, High-Current Applications
A lot of low voltage output applications require relatively high input voltage, e.g., 48 V, 100 V, etc., because high voltage is more efficient in distributing current. To minimize the power loss and protect the output load from possible over-voltage due to the failure of the semiconductor devices, a step-down isolation transformer is required in this type of low voltage power supply design. In...
