The Demi-lichenization of Trametes Versicolor (l.:fries) Pilat (polyporaceae): the Transfer of Fixed Co2 from Epiphytic Algae to T. Versicolor
نویسندگان
چکیده
Basidiocarps of Trametes versicolor with an epiphytic flora (including Trebouxia sp.) collected from north-central Rhode Island were incubated in an atmosphere of C labeled CO2 for 6 hours. Using autoradiography, the location of the fixed CO2 was determined at 6h, 12h, 24h, 48h, 96h, and 192h. The fixed C was recorded in the epiphytic algae after 6h, and at all subsequent times. After 192h the C was recorded in the fibrillar matrix associated with the epiphytic algae, and appeared to be present in the fungal hyphae in the top smooth, silky layer of the basidiocarp. The results suggest that the epiphytic algae secrete the fixed carbon in a form that Trametes versicolor can potentially assimilate, however, the slow assimilation of the carbon (4–8 days) suggest a casual relationship between T. versicolor and its epiphytic algal flora.

Optimization of Chitosan Production from Iranian Medicinal Fungus Trametes- Versicolor by Taguchi Method and Evaluation of Antibacterial Properties
Background: Chitosan is a natural polymer with special properties that are prepared and purified in the industry of crustaceans. In this study, Trametes versicolor fungus, which was obtained from the forests of northern Iran, was used due to its medicinal properties, and the extracted chitosan of this fungus was optimized and its antimicrobial properties were investigated. Materials & Methods:...
متن کاملSpecies delimitation in Trametes: a comparison of ITS, RPB1, RPB2 and TEF1 gene phylogenies.
Trametes is a cosmopolitan genus of white rot polypores, including the "turkey tail" fungus, T. versicolor. Although Trametes is one of the most familiar genera of polypores, its species-level taxonomy is unsettled. The ITS region is the most commonly used molecular marker for species delimitation in fungi, but it has been shown to have a low molecular variation in Trametes resulting in poorly ...
متن کاملTransformation of triclosan by Trametes versicolor and Pycnoporus cinnabarinus.
We investigated the ability of Trametes versicolor and Pycnoporous cinnabarinus to metabolize triclosan. T. versicolor produced three metabolites, 2-O-(2,4,4'-trichlorodiphenyl ether)-beta-D-xylopyranoside, 2-O-(2,4,4'-trichlorodiphenyl ether)-beta-D-glucopyranoside, and 2,4-dichlorophenol. P. cinnabarinus converted triclosan to 2,4, 4'-trichloro-2'-methoxydiphenyl ether and the glucoside conju...
متن کاملSimultaneous production of laccase and degradation of bisphenol A with Trametes versicolor cultivated on agricultural wastes
Solid state fermentation with Trametes versicolor was carried out on agricultural wastes containing bisphenol A (BPA). It was found that BPA degradation was along with the occurrence of laccase production, and wheat bran and corn straw were identified as suitable mixed substrates for laccase production. In the process of BPA degradation with T. versicolor, laccase activity increased rapidly at ...

The laccase enzyme is the largest group of Oxidoreductase enzymes and is capable of oxidizing a wide range of organic substrates to water along with molecular oxygen resuscitation. ZnO nanoparticles are known for their specific properties such as chemical stability, high electrochemical coupling rates, and wide range of absorption of radiation as multifunctional compounds. In this study, ZnO po...
